Anyway, I have a long history with this band and MAGA so I’m feeling a certain kind of way, apologies for derailing the thread.

the palestinian genocide is an ongoing war and genocide that is orders of magnitude more horrific than anything else going on in the world at present, and it is cheap to bring that into this conversation over someone tweeting beliefs that, while atrocious, are not even remotely close to a person hypothetically expressing glee over a genocide they are actively perpetuating.

if you cannot distinguish between these, if everything blurs into one homogenous blob of resentment, then while i appreciate where you're coming from, please see my last comment. i hope you heal.

you don’t think he was glad when black people died at the hands of the police? How do you think he truly felt about George Floyd? Why do you think he wished for MORE deaths? There’s an overlap to these beliefs.

reading that reddit post, there is such a familiar vein of very male loneliness in it. 44 is just no age to go.

if your first or principal reaction to learning about these events is to say some kneejerk variation of "fuck this asshole" and not, I don't know, to wonder about how long your own body will take to be noticed when you die, think about how connected you are to others in actual real life, etc, then perhaps you do not value human life as much as you think you do

I think the internet attention economy has encouraged people to engage in performative cruelty online, while also finding a socially acceptable "woke" way to do it. That's why so many people are celebrating Bob's death, not because the world is actually meaningfully better without him, but because he's considered an acceptable target of people's base desire for cruelty, because he was a considered "bad person".

I'm just no longer ideologically interested in whether or not anyone is a "good/bad person" it just isn't a useful or quantifiable assessment. I think it's important to gauge whether the amount of harm someone has caused is proportional to our desire to see them suffer, and I just don't see that here.

Bob obviously had many abhorrent, awful opinions and statements, but ultimately he's not Trump. He's not even Ronnie Radke. He was a lonely jackass, who drove away everyone who loved him, and had no remaining fans. He wasn't the cause of any bigotry or violence, he was the symptom of a larger political machine of bigotry.

That doesn't make anything he said okay, he obviously caused many people hurt, and I will never tell marginalized people they need to mourn someone who wished them harm. But I personally think it's super sad he never got to turn his life around, and instead will always be remembered for the person he was at his lowest point.

Very cool that Frank cracked that vulnerability door open on his relationship with Bob to the world. Sounds like he needed to.

    Awesome tattoo too.

    B Stage?

  14. yeah sometimes shows have a second stage where like a subset of the band will play some songs during the set (usually like acoustic/piano tracks from what I've seen but who knows)

Or where, just hypothetically, a dude in a hospital bed or like half a marching band appears. Just hypothetically

To be fair, they haven’t really done anything super theatrical since The Black Parade Tour in 2007. They took a decidedly more stripped back approach ever since. Aside from the curtain drop that revealed the stage on the reunion tour, they haven’t really done anything fancy production wise in a really long time.

I’ve been assuming they wouldn’t do a black parade tour again without something like this but good to hear it from someone else who might know more

Going down a rabbit hole of bands on talk shows and such and this is just absolutely wild that they did Destroya on Jimmy Fallon. It goes so hard.
