Ive probably said it before but Bulletproof Heart is such a jam. One of my favorites from their entire discography.
This discussion inspired me to listen to danger days for the first time in a while and…yeah this album fucking rules
Sing is worth it because it made Glenn Beck big mad Summertime is prob my fave mcr song. At least a top 3 I was the stereotypical teenage girl demo and danger days came out when I was a broke college student so I didn't buy the album or go to that tour cause I wouldn't afford it. My dad took me to all the shows before that and paid lol so that wasn't an issue before. And yeah I think a lot of people moved on but have now come back with the nostalgia train plus all the new younger fans they've accumulated along the way plus all the fans who've stayed fans the entire time
I was lukewarm on Danger Days for a long time. I have a friend who, during the earlier COVID days, was part of a virtual drag show that was all MCR songs. Turns out hearing those songs in that context was what I needed to finally get it.
I feel like DD wasn't received super well back on AP when it came out right? All I remember is saying that Na Na Na was the catchiest song I'd heard in a long time and I was mocked for that lol
I remember the reception being a bit muted. Wasn’t a fan of NaNaNa when it came out either but I had built it up to be a bit different from the (awesome) teasers so the hype was probably just too high
Na Na Na is okay. Don't love it, don't hate it I think I just don't love when the vocal melody is basically the same as the guitar melody if that makes sense
I find Na Na Na so overly catchy it would be hard to not like. I'm pretty sure I accidentally ripped off the main melody when I was trying to come up with a guitar part.
the kids from yesterday brought me to tears when they performed it summertime is a beautiful song na na na is great as well
I haaaaaaated DD when it came out, like it kinda killed my enjoyment of the band as a whole for a while to be completely honest lol. just where I was at with my tastes at the time and being a rather edgy teenager, I just completely balked at the brighter and poppier sonic direction and the whole aesthetic of the era. after the lengthy wait it was pretty much the exact opposite of what I wanted from the band at the time. I eventually went back to it in 2022 in preparation for seeing them and I did end up appreciating it more but I still am not a fan of most of the first half of the record. for whatever reason I start to enjoy the album a lot more from Party Poison onwards. I still wouldn’t put most of the songs on that back half up with their best work, with the exception being Summertime, but I do think it’s an enjoyable listen. on another note, I picked up Hesitant Alien on vinyl from a record store a few months back and that was quite a delight to revisit honestly. I personally like it more than DD and probably CW as well.
went to new jersey vs the world tour last night with saves the day & senses fail. at the end of the night, members of both bands came out and played helena, it was a cool way to end the night!
Because he's a Republican and they are named My Chemical Romance, so he decided to pick apart the lyrics of their most inoffensive song to tell other Republicans that what their kids are listening to is evil lol
