Never much liked "Sing" or "Planetary" but otherwise Danger Days fuckin rules. the b-sides are criminally amazing
Danger Days was such a weird time for them. Similar to Folie a Deux/Pretty Odd in that scene a few years earlier, a lot of the kids who got into them were now getting older and growing out of that style of music. The band, at least in the US, was definitely NOT considered cool and mocked in a lot of circles so I think a lot of people fell off simply due to just getting interested in other music genres. A good portion of the fans that got into them with Three Cheers and Black Parade may have felt a bit turned off by the band daring to embrace a more flamboyant and fun side so it definitely suffered. Still a really good record and I'm glad they put it out.
while i largely do not enjoy DD, i am very glad it exists because the good songs on that album are great. they also sound fantastic live.
It's not my favorite song but I have nostalgia for Sing as it appeared in an online rhythm game I can't recall the name of at the moment. I'd play with a high school friend back then and we probably heard the song a hundred times that way. However, I can exactly transport myself to the moment I clicked on the ap.net post for The Only Hope for Me Is You and hit play. Definitely got me hyped for the album the most out of the pre-release singles.
Yeah that song is like....kind of the anthesis for why people began listening to MCR in the first place but I still love it.
I loved the Danger Days release so much. Easily the most excited I've ever been to hear an album. I remember how surprising the "Na Na Na" song/video was.
This! It reminds me for some reason of songs like "can't stop the feeling" and "happy" the chorus is too over the top cheesy in a way I don't like.
"Sing" is probably my least favourite song on any of their full lengths but I still like it a lot, the bridge is ace.
