I feel like there's a certain hunger in the songs from 3 Cheers that isn't there on the later releases. But they for sure improved as songwriters.
Um... so we've somehow almost reached the point where they've been back together as long as they were broken up... October will mark 5 years since the reunion announcement and they were broken up for 6 years. Idk why this just fucked me up
I think COVID really fucked with most of their reunion plans. Having said that, still a pretty bizarre reunion. Thought for sure back in 2019 we would eventually get a new album or at the very least, more touring.
I bet they tour again soon-ish. Wouldn't surprise me if WWWY led into something else, maybe not Black Parade related but something nonetheless.
Their lives are so different from when they were releasing an album every 2-3 years. So is the music industry. COVID has made delays for a bunch of my favorite bands but I love MCR more than probably all of them so I’m willing to wait and tbh the single is still more than I ever thought we’d get out of their reunion.
At that time, all I cared about was a new Star Wars movie... I wasnt as in to music as much as I would eventually become.. But looking back Im just so thankful.. Plus that dude is still my best friend to this day, so it was the universe or something being like... "Lets catch you up to speed and send you on your way.."
It's a leaked demo from the album they were making before they called it quits in 2013, called the Paper Kingdom.
Some more snippets of leaks, including a demo of Foundations? https://www.reddit.com/r/MyChemical...the_paper_kingdom_tracklist_foundations_demo/
Wow, I was never too into MCR except for a few songs here and there, but I am loving "The Foundations of Decay" and "Witch". I hope this leads to the release of the album (in an official capacity).
I had no idea that back then this band had been working on music after Danger Days. Crazy that we are hearing one of those NOW. "The Paper Kingdom" era tracks as told by the MCR lore, apparently. Reading some Reddit stuff: When MCR was teasing back in 2019 they posted a short video with some symbols that had audio. The audio was the same symphonic note that starts off in "Witch". Which makes me think that this track they might have had future plans with. Either reworked or otherwise IF it was from an older session, originally. Leaks are bad, but I'm kind of champing at the bit for more.....
