I’d be surprised if we don’t get new tunes from the guys. Plus, It’s hard for me to believe that Fender would release a Mikey Way signature bass if this band was only going to be inactive again.

He’s contracted by fender at this point. No reason to be contracted if you’re just going to be an inactive artist for a long time. It’s not like he’s a legendary bass player either haha.

I will say, I'm cautiously excited about the things I've seen on social media the past few days (the entire band is in LA and has been since the LS Dunes tour ended; Frank's cryptic fortune cookie post).

I'll take what I can get at this point, haha.

 

Crazy when you consider people are drinking the Kool-Aid daily in the Blink thread when a flock of geese appears on their radar screen, but here, there's nothing to talk about and people respond to that in a reasonably healthy way.

 

I'm just quietly hoping every day that eventually something will happen lol.

This was what I was alluding to. I mean, he has to know there's only one way people are going to interpret that, right? I'll collect my tin foil hat where needed.

Even if they never release any more material (which would def be sad) they did give us one of the two or three best songs of the 2020s so far which I did not expect in my wildest dreams a few years back

I just need some more US shows at some point so I can finally see them. Indoors please so that the wind can’t cancel it lol

I imagine they probably know that releasing a new album would have high expectations so they might be taking their time with it to make sure it's their best work.

 

Yeah I'm fine with waiting as long as it takes if we can get a whole album as good as Foundations.

Honestly I think that's been their mission statement this entire reunion. This is all for them from here on out, which is how it should be.

 

The belief that there is an MCR5 keeps me going.

 

I mean we will probably get the recorded LA shows before we get a new album.

 

Still intrigued by last year's The Paper Kingdom leaks and especially how they just fizzled out. It was refreshing to see a fanbase so against spreading them to respect the band's privacy and especially the mythos surrounding all that unreleased/unfinished material. It's rare

 

Shuffling their discography this morning. Hoping they add to it. Committing my self to a MCR5 believer as well.
