Was at the Tacoma show too! I hate Tacoma, but it was my first time seeing MCR so I’m still elated lol
I saw MCR 18 years ago today opening for Story of the Year on the Nintendo Fusion Tour! I don’t know what their set list was and can’t find much on Concert Archives but if anyone else was there, please chime in! I may have some photos from the show laying around at my parents’ house and will try to dig some up when I go to visit them hopefully next month.
Crazy that they've been playing every song in that set, aside from Honey and the Jack the Ripper cover, on this current tour!
This was trending on Twitter… MCR’s 5th album?!? https://www.kidrobot.com/products/my-chemical-romance-plush-the-return-of-mcr-plush
It's not saying it's the name of the album, that's the name of the product. The product is inspired by the 5th album which the website doesn't name specifically
Yeah it just looks like the product was inspired by The Return of MCR and whoever did the writeup just stuck that into the template the others already had.
If you click the link, that's just the name of the product. It's called "The Return of MCR" Regardless, the mention of an album is great
Yeah, that's what I meant lol. It's just inspired by the return of the band instead of an album like the other ones were so in place of the album name which is what the others are called they have this. They even have "From their third album Welcome to the Black Parade" on one of the other pages so it's not the most accurate site.
With the LA "residency" beginning tomorrow, aka the final 5 shows of the headlining tour, thought I'd do one more update since they will likely be playing a huge chunk of their discography across those 5 shows. Not sure if they really will break out anything they haven't done yet, but it's certainly possible. From this list, Heaven Help Us is the only song played on the European leg that hasn't been played in the US. Setlists have been a little less varied the last couple weeks, so very curious to see what these final 5 nights look like! Frank said they rehearsed 45 songs for the tour, and they have played 45 different songs (plus 1 cover and 1 random/unreleased track). Bullets Vampires Will Never Hurt You Our Lady of Sorrows Headfirst for Halos Skylines & Turnstiles This is the Best Day Ever (US only) Demolition Lovers Revenge Helena (skipped once, in OKC) Give 'em Hell Kid Prison Not Okay Ghost of You Thank You for the Venom Hang 'em High (US only) Deathwish Cemetery Drive I Never Told You What I Do For A Living Black Parade This is How I Disappear Welcome to the Black Parade House of Wolves Cancer Mama Sleep Teenagers Famous Last Words Danger Days Na Na Na Bulletproof Heart/Trans Am Planetary (GO) The Only Hope For Me Is You Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back Scarecrow Summertime Destroya The Kids from Yesterday Vampire Money Conventional Weapons Boy Division Tomorrow's Money The World Is Ugly (US only) Make Room Surrender the Night Burn Bright Other Foundations of Decay Bury Me in Black (US only) Desert Song (US only) Heaven Help Us (Euro only so far) Mastas of Ravenkroft Everybody Hates the Eagles (new version of Noise Rock Jam from 2011) My Way (Frank Sinatra/Sid Vicious cover) Not Played (Yet?) Honey This Mirror Drowning Lessons Early Sunsets Cubicles To The End Jetset Life The End Dead! It is crazy, and very cool, how much they've played. I'll definitely need to see them multiple times next time they come over here.
I've been to 8 shows so far on the US tour and have had no luck seeing them play Desert Song so I'm sending out a request to the universe that they play it at any of the last 4 out of the 5 LA shows or the 2nd Saturday of WWWYF when I'll be in attendance. Please and thank you.
I can't believe they did Desert Song as the closer right after Helena at the Portland show. I hadn't even remembered that song in quite a while.
I remember I Don't Love You was on the setlist for a few of the early shows but never played, so that's at least one more they had rehearsed, so the number is 45. There were reports earlier on in the tour of some other songs that had been soundchecked but not played (the remaining Conventional Weapons songs mainly), but not sure how valid the rumors were. I read on Twitter this afternoon that they heard Desolation Row being soundchecked today.
