Hey this is the first time I think in any bracket I picked a full round of winner winner chicken dinners.
Gonna do some lunchtime listening and get my picks in ASAP. I haven't listened to this album in a looooooooong time
Same here, that why I love playing these games because I revisit shit I haven't listened to in forever.
I am sure that if there's any substantial My Chemical Romance news, you will not have a problem finding out about it, even without this thread.
Honest question: is saying that I Brought You My Bullets is the best MCR album considered a SUPER hot take...? Is it parallel to saying YFW is Brand New's best? I ask this because IBYMBYBMYL was when I fell in love with this band and chased them around NYC and NJ, occasionally watching them play to like 15 people.
I wouldn't necessarily cause it a hot Take, a lot of people call it a classic. It may not be the majority but it's not a hot Take if that makes sense
I don’t think it’s bad at all. It’s definitely my least favorite, but there are some fantastic songs on it.
At the very least it's not equivalent to hyping up yfw, I think there's a case to be made for bullets even if it's not my favorite
The problem with YFW is really that it's just a really typical early 2000s pop punk record. There's really nothing that stands out about it. Bullets is definitely a unique and interesting debut from a band that went on to do even bigger and better things. They were still forging a new sound with this record (not super distinct yet, but you could hear it happening). Brand New was not. Also the difference between YFW and Devil and God vs. Bullets and TBP is way bigger. You can hear the band who made Bullets in Black Parade. Again, the same can't be said for Devil and God.
I think YFW is a fine record for what it is, but now seeing what this band is capable of, the album honestly seems like a joke.
also Bullets is a great record but by far their weakest, but that is not to take anything away from it, this band has released a stellar collection.
