I went to the Glasgow date the other day. It was a great setlist, though a little too Danger Days heavy for my liking. For some reason that album just never really stuck with me or made me want to go back to it too often, though I've not really given it a proper go since they broke up so maybe it'll sit better with me now. Glad I got to see 'Our Lady of Sorrows' live again though. Major nostalgia buzz.
Calling all people who have MCR vinyl - can you recommend good pressings of TBP, TCFSR, and DD? I bought the Living With Ghosts version of TBP when it was first released and that was one of the worst-sounding records I have ever owned. Welcome to the Black Parade was nearly unlistenable due to inner groove distortion so I sold it. I can't find enough information on discogs to make me feel better about buying a new copy yet, but I really wanna add these three to my collection.
I picked up TBP from FYE years ago and it sounds great. It's a 2XLP, here's a link from Target. Looks like a repress of the one I have.
I am a relatively passive fan of MCR but do enjoy them. Got a fair few friends who love them. I remember seeing them at a festival 10 years ago and we were all hyped, they sounded awful. So I was slightly sceptical dropping 70 quid on a ticket for the Glasgow show. However, I would echo the live hype train. They were great.
I don't think I've ever heard this version of Sing til right now, posting if anyone else is in the same boat as me.
Revival was actually OOP for a while and I was stoked to find it at a record store around me! My last Amazon shipment had this exact issue… and then when they fixed the problem and sent me the correct record it turned out to be a different version than the one advertised… good times!!!
For what it's worth, last time I checked it's on Spotify along with a studio version of that 'Under Pressure' cover they did with The Used a while back.
They played Heaven Help Us at tonight's show in Prague which is just making me consider buying tickets to more US shows so maybe I can be at a show where it's played and just absolutely lose my mind the entire time.
It’s only a matter of time before they start throwing “Kill All Your Friends” in periodically…one would hope!!
Got Boy Division. Strong showing for Danger Days. Band were excellent, sounded tight, strong vocally. Berlin venue was super cool.
