So much respect for this move. Dropping a 6 minute prog emo/hardcore song out of the blue and off a long hiatus. They could’ve dropped some “I’m Not Okay” retread. I think it’s an important step for them to be pushing themselves this late into their career. They care about their legacy as a great influential band.
I think the contrarian in me winds up influencing albums I love a little bit because I’ve always absolutely adored Danger Days and there are a few other albums that I’ve loved that are the least popular from a bands discography lol
I think overall I consider myself a Danger Days fan. Even though I'm half and half on it musically I love the vision of it as a whole. It's easily my least favorite but there are certainly albums in other discographies where I end up in the same boat as you haha
I'm halfway through Danger Days right now. Some songs (Bulletproof Heart, The Only Hope For Me Is You, Save Yourself) I've never stopped listening to, but this is probably the first time I've listened to stuff like Party Poison and Planetary and idk, I think they're pretty good! Edit: first time in years
Listened again to start my friday morning. I hope they open their shows up with this song. Youtube stream already has over 1 million views too haha.
Danger Days was great. Literally everything they've put out has been phenomenal, but this... I just am not digging.
Listen, it's a natural law that someone always has to be the one, and this time, you were chosen. Fate selected you.
Fell asleep with headphones on last night listening to this band like it's fucking 2006 again or some shit
If you told me in 2003 when I was watching them play in front of 15 people on a mini-soccer field inside a skatepark that was stationed in an oil refinery that in 2022 they would be selling out arenas in the U.S., Europe, and Australia...my head would actually explode.
I love all the albums and the CW sessions. DD never deserved the hate that it got imo. But my rankings are Cheers Bullets Parade CW Danger Days the big problem with danger days is the waste of space dedicated to the interlude tracks when they just could’ve put Zero percent or one of the other songs from the Mad Gear EP on it.
If it makes any difference, I wasn't a fan of Folie A Deux for a long time but legit love that album now. Same with Danger Days as it pertains to MCR. Maybe with some more listens, but so far with 5 or so I just haven't connected with it.
I have accepted that I need to do a full discog run-thru today. Don't have a choice in the matter. It must be.
