Okay, now that I've had time to listen to this about 20 times, my thoughts have changed a lot. First, this song hit WAY harder in my car and computer speakers/sub than it did on my Beats Fit Pro's. It didn't sound the same and it clicked way more. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't mention the word "production" once in my earlier post, as I can really hear the level of detail in the layers of this track the more I listen. I can also hear vocals better on speakers. Weird, I know. The production here is brilliant. I think another reason this didn't resonate right away is the fact that I was never a fan of Bullets. I should rephrase that. I just haven't heard the album before. I don't know why, I just started my MCR journey with 3 Cheers, so while I know what those older songs sound like, I've only heard a few singles a handful of times. So if this is compared to that, of course I wasn't going to make that connection. With all of that said, I'm in love with this. I didn't know what I wanted from this band's return, and I'm speechless at their first effort right out the gate. If the rumors are true, I can only imagine how anxious they've been to drop new music if they've really been sitting on this since before COVID. Of course, no one really knows, and I'm just so fucking excited that MCR is back in full swing, and I can't wait to hear what's next!
If this is indeed part of an album I want that noise at the end to cut to an absolute ripper like Give Em Hell Kid or something
Also, highly doubt it would happen but it’d be funny as shit if “Stay” ended up making this album after all these years
I still can’t believe we got a new MCR song. Makes me think there’s much more to come. New song, new band photo, shows….Kinda had a feeling something was up since they just stay quiet most the time. Plus, like, Mark Hoppus has his radio show and I’m pretty he hasn’t had anyone from MCR as a guest yet, which is weird to me considering how much he loves them and takes credit for getting them back together. Just makes me feel like one of them will eventually be on the show to promote something if/when things get rolling.
