This. While I think shows *may* come back this year, it will be smaller shows in small venues first. Some people in this thread are too optimistic about things when we get any statements like this, which sure, it’s good to be optimistic but you also have to be realistic.

Sadly, with billions at stake here with all the companies connected to live shows and sporting events, I can see the agenda for reopening sooner being pushed on us quicker than we want it to be. Not sure how this is going to play out, but I'm fully hoping for another postponement of my Tame Impala reschedule for August. Noooooooo way I'm comfortable going, even with all the vaccinations at that point.

Re-opening is not the same as going full capacity though. Theres no shot these shows are gonna end up changing to 50-60% capacity, because how do you choose who ends up having to get refunded? These are all or nothing events, and i cannot imagine any scenario where we are operating major events at full capacity in 6 months, especially considering the vaccine for teenagers and kids isnt even going to be available until the fall.

Like andrew said, being optimistic is good, but be realistic as well. There’s no way these full capacity arena shows are happening 5-6 months from now.

We’ve been told not to leave our house except for essential reasons for nearly a year now, to avoid people as much as possible, and to always have masks on when not in your home and people think in just 6 months we will be able to be in crowds of 20k+ people? I’m sorry but no.

I think it’s totally okay for artists/bands and venues to book shows for the fall (these are artists and bands careers after all), but it’s just not realistic with a huge sold out tour like MCR’s in the fall.

Waiting on Boston to be cancelled still... already can't go to the rescheduled date since I'm moving in July to OK... our tickets are going for $50 less each than any other ticket in the spot via third party sales... would rather just get what we paid for at this point.

I struggle with some of y’all saying to “be realistic” about a global situation that none of us have lived through before and which changes rapidly practically every single day. Literally nothing about the last 365 days has been realistic. So while I’m being labeled as being overly optimistic, I don’t think I’m being unrealistic in the slightest. Just like the pandemic unraveled quickly, we are actually at a significant turning point that could (and likely will) change the circumstances very, very quickly.

IMO, being realistic is admitting that this world (and USA) is fueled by money, and whether or not it’s the right thing to do, the powers that be are going to try and make events happen ASAP. We just had the Super Bowl. Indoor sporting events are starting to happen with reduced capacities. And it’s only March. Life Is Beautiful was just announced TODAY for this September. Again, it’s not about whether we *think* it’s the right decision to be holding those events. I believe that they will happen regardless of public sentiment about them. It’s already starting to happen right before our eyes, so ruling out and making determinations about what you think will happen 5+ months in the future is what is not realistic to me.

I wasn’t supposed to be eligible in Colorado until 3/21 but I received my first dose of the vaccine yesterday, and my 2nd dose is scheduled for March 30th. We CAN get to 2/3rds or more of people vaccinated by the fall. There is no reason why full-capacity events could not be happening this year.

They could do this show when I'm 84 as long as they honor my ticket. If they cancelled all together I'd die inside

That’s how I’m processing the UK shows right now. I don’t see how they’re going to outright cancel three sold out stadium shows when they’ve never done anything close to that before, and at this point, if it falls June 2022, it is what it is. I just think they’ll postpone.

I was just afraid earlier on with COVID, that if it went on for years and there was no possible end in sight, that they just might choose to hang it up again. I don’t think that will be the case now.

Out of curiosity, how long after you had COVID did you get the vaccine? I was originally scheduled to get my first dose of the vaccine on Feb. 25, then tested positive for Covid on Feb. 6. I was feeling well and recovered by Feb. 25, but have read so many different things about whether or not you should still get vaccinated so soon after having COVID, so I opted out of my first dose shot (which most people I work with did, had they had COVID within a month or two).

I had the vaccine first then got a positive test a few weeks later.

Gotcha. Did you still get your second dose?

We had a few staff members test positive a few weeks after receiving the first dose as well. Our second dose date is next Friday, so I'm not sure what they're doing.

pretty sure my supervisor had to wait three months to get her first dose since she tasted positive early January. I don't think she's had it yet and she is 65+.

my next dose is supposed to be in April, I'm not sure if that will change since I've had a positive test or not.

Yeah, the early indications was to wait 90 days, but now they're saying so long as you are not in isolation and considered recovered, it doesn't matter about the amount of days...BUT you're far more likely to receive a reaction from the vaccine if you just recently had COVID. I talked to my doctor about it, and he told me to get it 'ASAP' still, but everyone else I work with...their doctor told them to wait.

I'm still pre-registered with a few pharmacies (outside of my work's vaccination process) so I'll likely get it once I'm called from one of the pharmacies now that it's been more than a month. I figure my natural immunity will get me through the next few months regardless (at least I hope).

I just got an email from one of the places I pre-registered telling me I could schedule my appointment, but when I answered yes to: "Have you had Covid within the past 90 days" it said 'sorry, we are unable to schedule your vaccination."

    So, there's that!

So uhhh, probably nothing, could be something...

A little over a week ago, there were two new MCR shirts posted for sale on the Hot Topic website. It had a very distinct new MCR logo that had not been used before, and it had a description that alluded to using new symbols to send a message.

Those shirts have suddenly gone missing from the website...wonder if it was a premature reveal of an upcoming logo for a campaign?? Pretty much all of the existing merch for sale uses either the Revenge logo, Black Parade logo, or one of the two new logos that debuted with the return. This was a new one altogether.

Here is an photo of one of the shirts with said logo:

could also be an unauthorized design that didnt originate from the band and was being sold mistakenly. but I like the theory, fingers crossed

If you look closely in the photo, it has the "official MCR logo" printed tag like their official merch does. I don't think an unauthorized design would have ended up in Hot Topic since they have a ton of exclusive MCR merch. Interesting stuff, we shall see what happens... I feel something though.
