This has been such a great talk so far. It's been especially interesting to listen to Gerard talking about how traumatizing fame was to him.

 

He has his own private studio at his house . Pretty sure he recorded the Umbrella Academy tracks and a lot of his solo stuff there

 

Deathbyromy seems cool. Never heard of them before but I liked what they had to say and their performances.

 

His previous web interviews were done from his office, so I just found the choice of doing it in his recording studio was interesting.

 

Really cool convo and I especially loved hearing Julien speak about her struggles with dealing with social media as an artist that’s becoming increasingly well-known. Really cool to hear Gerard open up and I look forward to keeping up with Deathbyromy. I luckily have a healthier relationship with social media now than I did earlier in the pandemic but as someone trying to someday make a living off of my art, it’s a tough balance!

 

Wish there was more Gerard but it was a cool talk.

 

to add to the studio comments, it looks like Ray produced Mikey's projects new album in the same studio...

If these motherfuckers aren't making My Chemical Romance music there my disappointment will be infinite.

 

I think they've shared that studio space since before the breakup, no? But still, I really do think they have music in the works.

Still expecting that UK announcement imminently... Killers just announced their postponement to 2022 due to the UK roadmap. Wonder when MCR will finally drop the details.

On the US side of things, CDC just officially announced that fully vaccinated adults can gather indoors without masks. Another promising development for the fall.

 

I did not, personally, interpret 'fully vaccinated adults can gather indoors' to necessarily mean that 20,000+ person indoor events are officially greenlit. still think there is significant reason to believe we might still get moved into 2022. we can't just immediately sprint. we're gonna have to walk again first.

 

They mean inside homes and small spaces, not out in public.

From the AP: “The CDC is continuing to recommend that fully vaccinated people still wear well-fitted masks, avoid large gatherings, and physically distance themselves from others when out in public.”

Meanwhile we have morons like the governor of Texas removing mask mandates despite the fact that less than 10% of the population is vaccinated.
