It bums me out that just a few months ago we were all so excited for this reunion and now it's possible it could be cancelled. Not trying to make it all about me or mcr, I guess just still sometimes in disbelief how quickly things changed.
At this point it seems pretty irresponsible to me to still have the shows in the US in the fall... I’ve been seeing reports about Ticketmaster not giving full refunds for rescheduled shows and I’m starting to get nervous given how much $$$ I threw out for this tour Lol
Yeah i'm not expecting to see the money i spent back. Ticketmaster are scam artists and I would love to see enough backlash from the cancellations this year take them out but uhhh not betting on that one
If you bought tickets before they changed their policy, aren't they obligated to respect the old policy?
If a show is outright canceled, there will be a full refund. If a show is postponed, it’s up to the event organizer if they want to offer refunds for those who can’t make the new date. I’m not entirely sure if that was always the case, but it certainly seems like that Ticketmaster news that came out yesterday was over-sensationalized. This tour is too popular to get outright canceled. It would likely just get postponed if it doesn’t happen and the demand is so high I don’t think there would be an issue with offering refunds to those that can’t make the new date because the ticket would easily be able to put back up for sale.
I definitely hope that’s the case. my issue even if they postpone is that we bought tickets to the NYC show but aren’t sure we’ll still be living here when/if they reschedule... also I don’t think I’m gonna be able to get back how much I paid for the tickets on resale
That's correct, full cancel and you'll get your money back. Postpone and you keep your ticket. If the ticketing company is nice, they'll give you the option to get a refund in case of a postpone, but they aren't obligated to unfortunately.
On a side note, tickets to several of the dates have gone down considerably. Since I’d think the tour will eventually happen at some point in time, for those that can, it might be a good chance to snag tickets. I got a pit ticket for Denver at “face value” ($249 plus fees) but in the last few days I’ve seen some for as “low” as $220. Still waiting for Vegas prices to drop.
Back when Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012 I had tickets to a few shows that got rescheduled to dates that I couldn't do. Ticketmaster gave me a refund for them. The obvious difference is they only had to reschedule a month of shows and for only a small part of the country. Here we're looking at like 12 months of cancelled/rescheduled shows worldwide. They're gonna try to hold on to as much of our money as they can.
I spent a boat load of money of this and Rage, along with a modest amount for the 1975 and NFG. Would love to have that money back right about now.
I think the worst part is so many postponed shows are still TBD so that money is just floating right now. I don't mind waiting for the shows in Denver to get rescheduled because I'll most likely still be able to go, but its the shows that I planned out of town that I most likely won't be able to go to anymore that I have to wait to get a refund for.
I got my tickets for night 1 of ratm in Chicago refunded/ there was a button on my ticket page that said refund so I did I. I bought a pair for myself and got another pair as a gift so I refunded mine. And the shows are still listed as postponed so.....
Probably only happens for postponed dates, so if you have a US show, I don't think MCR has postponed any fall shows yet
