It was? People on Reddit tried this when the video came out and had no results. It sounds like this WAS new information.
I was actually hoping to hit up Ireland this summer (I’ve dreamt of visiting forever) but not sure if I can afford the trip if I have to book things several months out. Any estimates on how much it would be round trip from NYC? Before MCR was in the picture I was hoping to do an Ireland/Scotland trip but if I’m disciplined then maybe I can swing a plane ticket for a trip just to see them. Toying with the idea of buying a ticket on Friday and selling it if I can’t go.
When I went two years ago, it cost $600 for a round trip ticket from Boston on Aer Lingus, but the prices definitely fluctuate. We were lucky enough to have a friend whose uncle rents a house in a town just outside of Galway, so we stayed there for free most of the trip, though we did spend two nights in a nice local hotel for maybe $110 a night? There are smaller, more affordable places as well. We relied mainly on taxis, train, and busses for transportation. Public transportation was very affordable and a lot easier to come by than in the states. We found the best way to get euros with a really low exchange fee was to just use ATMs out there like at a local grocery store or something. All in all, my girlfriend and I spent maybe $2k for a week long trip combined, but would obviously be more expensive if we didn't have a free place to crash at for 5 days.
