I can't tell if I'm hearing wrong because the recordings are all shit, but it sounded like Gerard went for the higher chorus notes in WTTBP instead of Ray for once which I don't think he ever did live. So dope. Someone brought up the fact somewhere that MCR usually ended Helena on tours, singing "so long and goodnight", but since they ended with WTTBP this time around, the last words they sing is "we'll carry on". Wonder if that was intentional. Gets me excited for what more they have in store.
Also, cool explanation for the tarot cards on the MCR trailer. If the theory is right, we might be able to expect new music I wonder if it will be I Am The Hag that Gerard has talked about in the past
On their smaller tour they did spring 2008, they opened up the Denver show (and a few others that tour) with Sleep and it was such a sweet opening song.
Have we talked about the sigil on Gerard's jacket and t-shirt yet? Apparently it translates to My Chemical Romance. Would be strange if it wasn't hinting towards something else.
I wish I could've been there when they recorded Early Sunsets Over Monroeville. Would've been an intense experience! :O From Songfacts.com This started out as a tender ballad, but producer Geoff Rickly sensed there was something darker brewing under the surface and encouraged Gerard to tap into it. "Just go with what's inside your head. Don't even listen to the music," Rickly recalled telling him before his explosive performance. The producer told MCR biographer Tom Bryant (Not the Life It Seems: The True Lives of My Chemical Romance) the rest of the band was left shaken in the aftermath of the rage-fueled session. "Afterwards, everybody just left and went outside to smoke cigarettes because they couldn't deal with looking at him after he had sung that," he explained. "He had just ripped himself open in front of everybody. He'd taken it so far that it was uncomfortable for anyone who was friends with him. They hadn’t seen him as Gerard the singer, they still saw him as their buddy Gerard. It's a little scary to see someone do what he did."
I don’t remember ever hearing those exact words, but I think when he witnessed 9/11 happening, he saw starting the band as a sign. No religious affiliation.
Man, Make Room really was the strangest part of that whole set. But it was also the song when Gerard and I had a moment and he made eye contact with me for at least 5 seconds because I knew all the words. But they still shoulda played Boy Division instead
Ray Toro yelled, "There you go!" Mikey Way gave a look of pleasant surprise. Frank Iero belted, "We got an [expletive] band now." And before Gerard Way hit the green room door, The Used frontman Bert McCracken hugged him & said "Y'all look so different."
Woah! When was this? Dec 23 or was that just the publish date? Either way, bizarro indeed! Edit: oops! Well I mean I guess it wasn't today. :P
omg the part about saying they're recording in Newburgh NY and they're like "that's a little scary", I'm like 30 minutes away from Newburgh and yea it still has some of that reputation lol
