I'm still so emotional from last night. I don't really have words to explain how overwhelmed I am. Seeing these guys back together after so long means the whole world to me. I couldn't stop smiling the entire night. Seeing the smiles on their faces was pretty spectacular. I think it would have been impossible to do a set that pleases everybody. They didn't play some of my favorites (Bulletproof Heart, The Only Hope For Me Is You) and I thought some of the choices were very interesting (Sleep, I Don't Love You, and Make Room). I thought Fake Your Death would have made an appearance too. But overall, the set was amazing. The intro was phenomenal. Waiting to see what they would open with, and a whole bunch of fake outs and then finally the curtain drop with I'm Not Okay. It was so exciting. Gerard had a much goofier stage presence than before, but his screams were ON POINT. You can tell he's just in a really good place. RAY. TORO. We were 2nd row from the barricade right in front of him. Man can shred. A lot of the songs sounded a little off due to the down tuning (key change? i don't know the correct terminology). I think Na Na Na was the oddest sounding. Also, the tempo on Sorrows and Teenagers was slowed down quite a bit. They changed the synth on Kids from Yesterday and it sounded pretty cool. Famous Last Words live in 2019 is everything I've ever needed. Still my favorite song of all time. I was shocked at how loud the response was to "Who's first My Chem show is it?"
gerard cut a lot of corners vocally but it was to be expected. he did pretty well all things considered. i worry that this might be a 2020 only thing with no new music to speak of, but being able to watch my chemical romance live in this day and age is already a blessing of its own. setlist was pretty cool. didn't expect DD having the second most songs.
What makes I Don't Love You an interesting choice? Wasn't that a single of theirs? Pretty popular in the UK I believe
Yeah, I was expecting a TBP-heavy set, so I was very surprised. But it seemed like the crowd response was great, but now I'm anxious for tour dates, haha.
the hype is dying down a bit...i'm starting to get, for a lack of a better word, ho-hum again. :/ probably means i ought to get off the computer and actually do something in the real world now. :P
It was a UK only single. I wasn’t necessarily a staple of their live set previously. Also, Summertime and Scarecrow both on the set so lots of ballads. I dunno, I was just a little surprised by it.
I wouldn’t honestly be mad if I saw My Chem but they didn’t play I Don’t Love You. Always thought it was one of the biggest songs
It’s a great song but I don’t think it was ever really a staple in the setlist outside of headlining shows during Black Parade. It wasn’t on the Projekt Rev or festival setlists and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t played at all since Danger Days was released
Man, watching My Chem play during Projekt Revolution is definitely a memory. I don’t know how they handled it. August of ‘07 was incredibly hot and they were in their Black Parade outfits with flames behind them on stage.
Projekt Revolution was so awesome. Got to see TBS with Fred one last time, MCR, and Linkin Park all in one night? Hell yes. I just remember HIM being on stage and the singer just stood still the entire time and basically apologized for being so boring by giving the excuse "we ran out of drugs" lmao.
Projekt Rev was such a time. No disrespect to LP but MCR stole the show every night on that tour. That was the first tour I ever saw multiple shows of. Got to see one of the first shows (Mountain View, California) when they had Heaven Help Us on the setlist. And then the last show of the tour back home in Colorado (when Gerard got married backstage). So much energy and that pyro was sweet.
Projekt Revolution 2007 was the first tour in my life that I DESPERATELY wanted to go to but I was too young to go by myself and my parents weren't the type that would have taken me. But MCR + Linkin Park was like, the DREAM tour for me back in the day. And then add in TBS and Saosin? Fuckin wild. And boy I haven't thought of Madina Lake in a good while, good times
Tbf, their stage presence was never good. It wasn’t good when I watched them in ‘06 and it wasn’t good when I watched them two years ago.
That Projekt Rev tour is still one of my favorite shows to date. Tbs+mcr+Linkin park was a dream come true
it's already unbelievable that they played "Make Room!!!!" but something tells me they're not only keeping that CW spot on the setlist over the next year but rotating it. "The Light Behind Your Eyes" live would be otherworldly
Project rev 2007 was insane it was my 3rd time seeing lp and first time seeing Tbs and mcr but those 3 bands back to back to back was fucking amazing. The entire lineup was killer
