As MCR has to this point been one of those bands where none of their albums sounds like any of the others, I'm mostly hoping the new record is a completely new direction for them rather than a continuation of anything they've done before.
I'm hoping it sounds different in the same way the first three sound different though. I want that MCR sound. Honestly I need it, haha. At least one more time.
After binging everything since the announcement I think I've settled on You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison or Thank You For The Venom as my favorite song Still doubt I can narrow anything down to a top ten though haha.
This may sound like a silly question but i'm curious. If they released new music and it sounded more like a Nickelback album or something of that sort, would you hate it or would you just be happy that they released new music and enjoy it anyway? Genuinely curious.
That's a weird question. If any band releases music that sounds like Nickelback, I am certain I would not like it.
The new songs I heard that ray played me definitely don’t have that vibe. It is still poppy and catchy but huge riffs and choruses.
They honestly seem to be leaning hard into the more goth/emo overtones for their reunion merch and stuff, so if there is new music, I'm sure it follows that route more or less. Obviously different because like has been said none of their albums sound identical. And I'm also sure they're going to want it to be appealing to the masses, but I have full faith in them.
I sure hope this pop punk/alt rock band doesn’t go in a pop direction with their new music, as if there isn’t a ton of pop in their music to begin with.
Are we all just assuming there’s going to be a new album? I just thought they wanted to play a few shows.
I don't wanna get my hopes up so I'm keeping quiet about any new speculations stuff. Doesn't mean I'm not at the edge of my seat waiting for news from them. Meanwhile, listening to Peney Prep. I'll ask this again, anyone else a fan of Frank's original band? Some pretty freaking rad songs there. One of my MOST favorite albums of all time (they only had one).
