I love the way Gerard sings on House of Wolves. The vocal take is really perfect with so many little flourishes, like rolling the R.

 

"And I said, ashes to ashes, we all fall down
I wanna hear you sing the praise

We got innocence for days"

I've always interpreted him as singing "I saidddddddd, ashes to ashes, we all fall down". Also all the lyrics I've seen so far say "ashes to ashes" rather than "rashes to ashes."

I love all these top lists but honestly there's only like 5/6 songs that would feel out of place to me in a best of list and even those are cool in their own way.

 

Sounds good to me. I've just never heard someone roll a d sound linguistically.

 

I keep wanting to make a top 5, but I honestly can't because I have no idea how to approach it, because their hits are sooo good, definitely a band for me where I think a lot of the "right" songs are hits, and they're so ingrained in me, but at the same time, some of the songs I've come to love over the years like The Sharpest Lives for example, also deserve to be up there. But could I really pick Sharpest Lives over Black Parade? Idk And then there are days where I could honestly pick 5 songs from Danger Days too, but that wouldn't be right either.

Anyway, right now I'm inclined to say:

I wasn’t a very big fan of danger days when it came out but have been revisiting it since the announcement and I absolutely love it

Possibly my favorite of theirs at this point but really excited to have these guys back. Can’t wait to see them on tour

DD - this one is still pretty good. Bulletproof Heart, Planetary (GO), Party Poison etc. are bangers. saying it’s their worst is fine but acting like it’s unlistenable is kinda weird.

I mean the second one was a joke and the first part was tongue in cheek but lets unpack that. There's plenty of perfectly good songs by artists that people love on this site that I don't care for. I would be totally fine never hearing anything from "I Brought You My Bullets..." ever again but I don't think me not liking those songs makes them objectively bad. And I don't really accept "it's all subjective" because then there's nothing to talk about ever.

Also, taking what I said as "You don't like ANY good songs." Is a pretty disingenuous reading of what I said.

 

Yeah! MCR are true ground-breakers and heart-shakers.

 

Went to get my haircut on my lunch break today and I walk into the Barbershop and Welcome to the Black Parade was on.

 

The bravery that getting your hair cut mid-work-day requires is something I did not know anyone posessed.

 

Haha, I always do my haircuts on my lunch break.

I also go to the gym 3x a week on my lunch break.

 

Damn, I just go home and hang out with my cats. It's like you're a functioning member of society or whatever.

 

The two days a week I don't go to the gym, I go home and eat cheerios and bananas
And I play with my dog.

And sometimes say hi to my wife & kids.
