They could either go one of 3 routs in the USA do the festival circuit and play everything or they do their own tour or a combination of both
People are ravenous to see them again. They can probably play whatever size venues they want (barring stadiums).
I’m betting it’s a combination, I’d be so surprised if they just hit 10 festivals and called it a day. I’m betting whatever the tour is it’ll start at Coachella and work it’s way eastward, which would hopefully put the Midwest RIGHT before I don’t want them there hahah
It all depends on when the tour is on what they hit I mean they could play Coachella acl Boston calling Bonnaroo Fire fly governors and either Lolla or riot in Chicago. Or do non of those and just play nba/hockey arenas or Amphitheatres
Yeah, a Festival year for them would make a lot of sense, especially if they don't want to take TOO much time away from their current lives
A January and February US tour would already have been announced and on sale (it’s November, after all). Summer/fall is much more likely, especially if this will hit arenas like it’s rumored.
They could announce a tour for January or February whenever they want between now and the end of the year if they wanted to and it would still be a completely sold out tour
It's all going to be interesting to see. I can't go to Riot Fest next year (at least not Fri/Sat), so I'm hoping that if they do end up playing that, there is also an arena show, but if it really is festivals only, then I will go to a different one they are playing. I was all in on Coachella when I thought that was the reunion show, but now that it's not I'll probably try to do a different fest that MCR is playing.
If you want a hot take, MCR put out a clip of I’m Not Okay up on their website as a preview after announcing new music way back when in 2004, and 14 year old me said to his friends that it “sounds like a Jimmy Eat World Christmas song”. Scorching hot take.
I mean, yes, they certainly could, but that’s rarely how arena tours work. They’re generally announced at least 6 months in advance to ensure ticket sales. Not saying MCR doesn’t have the demand right now, but launching and selling an arena tour in that time frame isn’t really realistic.
Heaven Help Us is my favourite b-side. UK-wise I can't see past them for Reading and Leeds but hopefully not. I'd take a big outdoor show like Milton Keynes over a festival show. Ideally they do arena shows.
