Idk, the album has heavy rock and roll dance party vibes but I don't think there's much actual singing about those things.
I had surgery in Spring 2005 and when I came home my older brother was trying to be nice and offered to go get me a CD at Best Buy. I told him I wanted Three Cheers and he threw a fit about having to walk up to the register with it. The nice charade didn’t last long, haha. But he did buy it for me!
do not like DD at all even after revisiting it. the neon power pop aesthetic is so extremely not my thing.
I remember the Kerrang! interview in the build up and reading Gerard saying "colour is dangerous" and I kind of knew it wasn't my thing then.
I love the aesthetic for that album. I'll always prefer the darkness but if they wanted to go brighter I'm glad they went all in.
I am really bummed I missed all of the excitement of the initial announce while I was at Disney World and am mad I couldn't properly set up to buy tickets but I am very happy they're back and can't wait to see them next year
Honestly I didn't expect it to be so noisy... and almost heavy at times? I thought a Gerard album would be more in a glossy new wave-y vein, kind of like Danger Days somewhat. Action Cat is a banger. Zero Zero also stood out on this first listen.
No Shows and How Its Going To Be were always my Hesitant Alien favs. Also Millions and Juarez. So good.
