Do you guys all remember - years ago - when Gerard went on Twitter and listened to all the MCR albums front to back and commented on each song? I don't recall any specifics, but I recall him doing it.
I think that was more a matter of wording (a show vs. some shows, is easily interchangeable in the moment, especially when nothing else was announced at the time that was recorded) rather than specifically saying something like "there are no concrete plans for new music but it's not off the table". I would prefer this reunion not to be with the requirement/expectation of new music, so there's less risk of it being forced, but more them getting together, having some fun, getting their groove back, and then seeing what happens.
Went to re-watch the "I'm Not Okay" video for the first time in god knows how many years. Just noticed the "guardian" typo ("gaurdian").
Many moons ago, in this very thread, I embarked on an effort to craft a 10 song album out of the CW songs. I find album sequencing to be really interesting and, having never created an album myself, endeavored to satisfy my curiosity by sequencing CW. What I learned is that sequencing is really fucking hard and I can't help myself from tinkering. The only thing I think I've settled on after all this time is that Boy Division should be the opener.
It's been a number of years since I've listened to Three Cheers from cover to cover - did that today and was happy to see how much I still enjoy this album today. While The Black Parade is often (with very good reason) revered as their best work - I think it's understated just how genre defining this album is.
The Black Parade is undeniably a masterpiece but my heart will always love Three Cheers the most. It was the album that made me discover MCR.
I was 16 when The Black Parade came out so it was their defining album for me. A favorite album of all time really. I’ve been listening to Three Cheers this week and man... from Helena to I’m Not Okay is just relentless. So so good
I hated Helena and The Ghost of You when they were released as singles. I remember switching the channel anytime those videos would play on TV. I’m pretty indifferent to them now, but definitely think those are some overrated tracks
