Danger Days - The one I listen to the most. I ALWAYS come back to this. Plus, I love the aesthetic of this album so much. Black Parade - Their masterpiece. Three Cheers - The album that ignited the emo in me that I never knew I had. Because of this album I got into The Used and other similar stuff. I haven't gone back to this one a lot over the years though. IDK why. Conventional Weapons - Super fun songs. I love the directness and rawness of these songs. The punk and dirty sounding MCR is something I've always enjoyed and I am grateful they gave us these songs. I am glad it wasn't an official album release because it wouldn't have worked after a release like BP. The collection of songs still seems like more of a novelty for me. Like they wanted to get it out of their system at the time by going harder and more raw before hitting the refresh button. I honestly see CW moving up above Three Cheers at some point though. Bullets - Aside from a few tracks, I never fully got into the album. Headfirst for Halos was the first song I ever heard from them . I remember losing my shit to this song when I first saw them in 2004.
Personally: Boy Division Tomorrow’s Money Ambulance Surrender the Night The World Is Ugly Gun Make Room!!! Kiss the Ring Burn Bright The Light Behind Your Eyes (and occasionally end with) Fake Your Death
I went back to CW last night for the first time in a while. Still doesn’t grab me a ton. Light Behind Your Eyes is great though.
I've listened to DD pretty heavily over the past few days & again in the car today driving down the highway, windows down and all. Still holds up extremely well. And I think it's easily some of MCR's strongest writing. IIRC it did take me some time to get into initially. But, as others said, it might be my favorite MCR album - or at the very least tied with TBP.
Black Parade > Three Cheers > Conventional Weapons > Bullets > Danger Days Really not a slight to Danger Days. Bullets edges it out, love the mood of that album. My last 3 are actually all close I'd say
I love all of Danger Days except for Sing. I'm sorry if this is slander. I've just never been able to get into that song.
Three Cheers and TBP are pretty equal for me, then DD, then Bullets. Haven't listened to enough CW either, but get the feeling it would come before Bullets
Actually, in terms of consistency, I think TBP has a sliiiight edge over Three Cheers only because it flows so perfectly, and I'm Not Okay just comes out of absolutely nowhere on Three Cheers lol. Not that it makes it a bad song or anything.
Seeing “Sing” live in person was like going on a damn spiritual journey. I remember it just capturing me and the people around me during the show. I’ll never forget that.
