no, people just make assumptions without any actual evidence ever. that's about it literally all they did was post a video, people made grandiose assumptions without any legitimate proof
tell us more about how you're so above us for getting excited about a band we like hinting at activity
A non-active band teasing a date with a cryptic video isn't nothing, and is usually followed up with a tour/new music, not a simple reissue.
things were strongly pointing at a reissue though...an exact date that's a friday? a band that nobody really expected to be back together by now? idk guys
I have no shame in getting extremely excited when a band I love/used to love starts teasing things and stirring the pot after years of inactivity. Sure it might be a little illogical but I mean... whatever.
I should have known. They should have known what people would think though and made it clear in the video.
I was never unsure of the reissue, but it just seemed like there was going to be more. Bands don't typically put out teaser videos and change their profile pictures on Facebook for vinyl reissues, nor do they typically release the date rather cryptically, so it made sense to me that there could have been more going on. There obviously isn't now that they've said something, and thats fine, but for a while it seemed legitimate and not too unreasonable.
I mean, it's cool that they came out and said something, as heartbreaking as it was. However, it could been handled a lot better than that and the vague video was not a good idea in my opinion.
They didn't actually tease anything that pointed towards anything but the reissue though. It's a bit odd to view the absence of any other hints as hinting at more. But I don't know. Not worth arguing over, especially when we have the confirmation.
This is definitely a move by WB to hype up the reissue, I don't think the band really has a say in how it's rolled out unfortunately.
Well I mean, that band means something to people. Of course people were going to get excited and make assumptions, it's not odd at all as people do it all the time with various mediums.
If they did delete the break-up tweet, that seemed like a really unnecessary thing to do for just a re-issue. Idk how they underestimated how their fans would react to that. Like just announce the vinyl right off the bat lol.
Wouldn't put it past them. Lol it feels like this whole scene has never really handled announcements well to say the least.
Honestly, this is most likely a WB move. Gerard has come out and said he no longer has anything to do with the website, or anything really MCR related. They probably put it up without their knowledge, and then when he got word of it he probably clarified it up with everyone today.
Yeah, I'm sure it was the label. I think if Gerard was in control it would have been handled better. At least he confirmed it relatively quickly.
On one hand, the fact that the song playing was Welcome to the Black Parade should have clued everyone in to the fact that it had to do with Black Parade. On the other, they had to know that making it so cryptic would get everyone's hopes up. Seems mishandled all around to be honest.
