I just went through all the boys' Twitters looking for clues. I found nothing but Mikey just released his Eldctric Century album for free on Amazon for the next 3 days! And Gerard hasn't tweeted for a month, which is weird for him...but not a clue. I want nothing more than a tour since I've never seen them and they're one of my all time favorite bands, but I refuse to get my hopes up until they say something. I can't let this band break my heart again :/
With all due respect to Thursday (who I really like) MCR was one of the biggest bands in the world from 2006 until their hiatus/break-up. If they're gonna make a comeback, I'd HIGHLY doubt it'd be at a Thursday show.
Completely agree. It wouldn't make sense to add a teaser on their own Facebook and then show up at a Thursday show. Plus, they'd totally steal the show. I love Thursday, but if there were rumors MCR was at my local Thursday show, you bet your ass I'm not there for Thursday. I mean I can see Thursday knowing about what's going on, but giving up a show for it? Nahhh. If there's anything we know about MCR, everything is a big production with them. I have a feeling this is a vinyl reissue with maybe some new Black Parade style merch or something. I'm more interested in the idea that any MCR activity means the guys are talking, and if they're talking, they'll end up talking about music and then a reunion and a big tour and I'm getting my hopes up again...
I feel like with the success that bands such as Fall Out Boy, Panic!, and Blink have had recently, a reunion and new album for MCR would be quite successful, however, considering what the band was saying during the break up, it would be disappointing if what was released was half-assed for lack of a better term.
Brand New was a special guest at The Movielife's reunion show a couple years back. It's not too far-fetched.
I know this isn't what you said, but if MCR came back sounding anything like FOB do, I would honestly give up on music.
Yeah, as wild as that would be... it just wouldn't make any sense when they could sell out much bigger venues than what Thursday would be playing.
I don't see this being a reunion but it would be MCR to drop an album on 9/23 without any warning. But the X and and everything else just lends itself to The Black Parade re-issue.
If that were the case and they did drop an album without warning, that would be the biggest surprise in music this year.
I agree that that album was ahead of its time... But I wouldn't go as far as comparing it to FOB's new stuff.
Funny, I said something akin to this to my friend the other day. Despite some shortcomings, Danger Days is the reason why FOB could make an album like SRAR
I always start listening to one album, then craving more as soon as it's over and a few hours later have listened to their whole disography+acoustic songs /b-sides. Every. Damn. Time.
Haha, I do that too but I still mostly forget that song. I need to put it in a playlist or something.
I tried to mix it into CW and make a new order for it but I never got it right. I used it as a closer though and it was cool there.
EW has a source thay says (as most have surmised) it'll be a reissue of Black Parade with unreleased demos
