At this point hasn't the band teased enough things this way that people should have low expectations instead of following their wildest dreams for what they want it to be?
I think calling them dicks was a bit much. There are plenty of artists I listen to who take long periods between releasing new albums and I don't ever feel the need to call them dicks when they tease something that does not interest me or is not as exciting as new music. Plus, there should be no expectation that they will release new music. I think instead of spending energy lashing out at MCR for not doing what you want, we should spend our energy lashing out at the government who has provided shit for bands and music venues to survive during this time. We should be fortunate that MCR is in the position they are in and is able to just wait out the pandemic without worrying whether they will be able to continue their career. That was merely just an example, but I do agree that it feels entitled complaining about not getting new music.
seriously. lol they have never, not once, not even slightly intimated that there is new music coming. so to get mad that them teasing didn't end up being new music is so baseless because, again, they've never said one thing to slightly hint that there would ever be new music from them. we have, as usual, gotten ourselves convinced of something and we are holding them accountable for something they've never even committed to. but they're the dicks.
Exactly. Also, with everything going on right now in the world, I was not expecting new music from MCR. There’s been tons of great music released this year (and a few already announced for next year) that I’m not angered when they tease something non-new music related. There’s tons of other music to listen to in the meantime to hold me over until they announce something that interests me. it just seems like privileged anger honestly. There’s so much going on in the world we should be angered about, this shouldn’t be one of those things.
