Music, a steady riot in my soul. Prestigious

I cannot stress how happy it makes me to see that Homeless Gospel Choir is opening on some of these shows. Derek deserves every bit of success he can get.

ticket prices are outrageous. I don't see how any self-respecting band in any subset of the punk genera can charge people hundreds and hundreds of dollars to see them play at places called " TD Bank Garden Arena"... It's kinda the least My Chemical Romance thing I can think of.

Am I the only one who gets a bad feeling from seeing things like this? Live music continues to exploit bands and fans, making it a medium only accessible for the wealthy.

That's true! It is a business after all, but it's still continuing to sway towards being for the wealthy, by the wealthy.

At what point does it go from having to be a business to protect the band to having to be a band to protect the business? And how could a band with morals that *seemingly* oppose that view of wealth control let that ratio flip? Can any fan expect a band that makes them pay an absurd amount of money to play a bank area play a song like "Cubicles" with authenticity, or keep the irony in lines like "give me some of that vampire money"?

Does the fact that Rage Against The Machine are doing the same sorta thing while being sponsored by live nation and ticketmaster ruin the whole meaning of the band's moral stances? If you told RATM or MCR 15 years ago that they would be asking fans for $600+ to sit in nosebleeds of bank arenas, what would they say?

first, the demand for mcr is extraordinary. if mcr played a bunch of club shows no one would be happy. so they have to play arenas, and arenas are expensive.

now, would it be cool if mcr had some "cheap/free tickets" set aside at each show? absolutely.

secondly, a lot of people are going to get paid from this beyond the band. touring personnel, etc.

thirdly, look at it this way. they're bringing in bands way smaller than they could have. mcr could've toured with anyone, and instead they're bringing on really REALLY small bands in addition to bands who have worked really hard over the years to get where they are. these bands are going to actually make money from this.

all that being said (plus inflation), it's reasonable

DUDE. Yes. Thank you. The ticket prices are absolutely nuts. Although I’m not sure that MCR are being exploited Haha

Oh, it absolutely does. Especially for RATM. That being said, of COURSE I paid a stupid amount of money to see them this summer lol

Tickets to see one of the biggest and most beloved bands in the world in an arena on their first world tour since reforming are not cheap and yet still in high demand? I’m shocked, personally. Do they not know that I bought the deluxe edition of The Black Parade in 2006?

If you're seeing $600 nosebleed tickets, I wouldn't blame MCR. Sounds like a reseller issue.

I bought tickets to one of the NJ shows when they initially went on sale, and got pretty decent seats for $70 each. Certainly a far cry from the $30 GA tickets MCR shows used to have, but it wasn't outrageous.

    Sending my love

There are upper bowl seats for a few of the new dates that just went on sale that are selling for $59.50 before fees. Many are $99.50 or $129.50. "$600 for nosebleeds" is just an outrageous exaggeration.
