Lets goooo!! About the interview, I love Mike but it feels refreshing to see other band members speaking about the band.
Latest email calls their upcoming shows the "last leg of the Find A Way Home era", sounds like there may be a new album coming before their next announced dates.
the first MXPX CD i ever purchased. still got the original and deluxe edition. and yeah, i'd love to have Let It Happen on vinyl.
Yup first mxpx album for me too. Convinced my Mimi to buy it for me because it had 32 tracks and was $12. That lady loved a deal
There’s a European “unofficial release” that’s floating around out there…buddy of mine found one in a U.S. record store recently and I freaked out a bit until I realized what it was…but it looks convincingly like a legit release with the sticker and record label name on it: https://www.discogs.com/release/32528154-MxPx-Let-It-Happen
I don't disagree...however, if this ever does get an official vinyl pressing I'd love for them to include the three new songs they added to the re-released deluxe version (the ones they recorded with Aaron Sprinkle), as well as the super old demos they added to that deluxe version...they would fill up all four sides.
So stoked to be taking my 6 year old to tomorrow's show! Her love for this band just seems genetically baked in. It will also be my first time seeing them in about 20 years, so I'm matching her level of enthusiasm. Does anyone know if they still do a meet and greet after shows? I seem to recall mention of this a while back, and she keeps asking if she can meet Mike so he can know how cool she is since The Darkest Places is her favorite MxPx song. Haha.
Back in the day the easiest way to get a meet and greet was to be a part of the fanclub...for like $10 you got access to the pre-show fan club meet and greet. But that was awhile ago and I'm guessing things have changed...good memories with those though. I hope you have fun with your daughter and find a way to meet Mike!
I bet if you tweet/Insta Mike, he would try to work something out. The band seems to be very fan-friendly. When I saw him open for FIF, he was working his own merch table, but I doubt that happens on their full band tours.
That is awesome you can take your daughter! I can't wait to take my boys to a show someday, it's probably been 20 years for me too since I've seen them
Such a great show last night, and my daughter had a blast. They did a meet and greet in the merch area after the show, so that was great as well. I asked Mike about the timing of another album and he said they’re actively working on one. Can’t wait to hear what’s next.
