I need to revisit the Arthur “reunion” album. I remember being bummed that it wasn’t as good as Loneliness is Bliss. But I haven’t listened to it since it came out, I think.
That's not my favorite MxPx album, but it's aged better than a lot of radio-friendly pop punk from that era.
Maybe the album that's grown on me the most over the years? Always liked it, but now it's like a summer staple for me.
That was the first album of theirs I bought so it holds a special place. I knew some of their older songs but I'll probably always rank this album higher than most people
The thing I remember the most about that album was all the features! Jordan from New Found Glory, Kris from the Ataris, And I believe the Madden brothers from Good Charlotte were on there as well. And that’s when all those bands were in their prime in the mid 2000S. Crazy stacked featured lineup!
One of my favorites. I know it’s not one of their best albums (I think even the band kind of rejects it), but I have so many memories of it as a soundtrack.
I had gotten into them a little bit before this album cycle, so this was the first “new” MxPx album for me. I’ve always really loved it.
The live album got me into them. Got the pokinatcha punk tattooed on me by Jordan from New Found Glory. Band is just perfect.
My boys are 6 and 3 and love the live MxPx albums. Whenever I play those they end up jumping off the couch with their shirts off. Can't wait to take them to a show someday
At The Show was the first MxPx album where their sound clicked. It's just such a good live record, and they were incredibly tight at that point. I haven't seen the full band live. I saw Mike open for Five Iron Frenzy, where he and members of House of Heroes played MxPx songs, and that was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Yo this is wild and cool, when did this happen? Had to have been that time period when Tom and Yuri were doing full-time jobs and unable to commit to the band...early to mid 2010s?
October 2013, on the Engine of a Million Plots tour. I have a pic with Mike somewhere too. it was a great set, he came out and played a couple songs acoustic, then halfway through Punk Rawk Show the guitarist and drummer came out and started playing, Mike ran off stage and swapped his acoustic for a bass, came running back out and tore through a MxPx set. FIF were great too.
