Not my cup of tea but always good to see these guys releasing stuff and being active. Still hoping for some European dates…

Night one at metro in Chicago. One of the best to ever do it. Beefy set. So good. First time seeing them in a decade , I last saw them in 2014 with Allister & Showoff. the venue felt about half to 3/4 filled which was nice to have breathing room. Long live mxpx! They said the last time they played metro was 24 years in April 2000!

These two night stands MxPx has been doing in cities the last few years reminds me of a memory I have from 20 years ago…has anyone here seen MxPx three nights in a row? They did a three-night stand in Seattle while ostensibly filming a live DVD in 2004. I went to all three shows, and I’m pretty sure that’s the only time they’ve ever played three nights in a row in one location…unless someone else knows of a time they did elsewhere. Fun memory. They played 25 songs each night…some repeats but mixed it up a lot each night.

Only band I’ve ever seen three nights in a row with New Found Glory on their 20 year anniversary tour. That’s cool that MXPX did that. That’s cool that they switched it up. Mike was saying Friday night that it’s getting harder and harder to write sets because they’re discography is so big lol

I really wanted to go to one or both of these shows, but wasn't sure how my 5 year old (also a huge fan) would fair in the crowd. Haha.

i saw a couple who brought their three daughters, two were walking and the lil one looked maybe 3 or 4 and the dad was holding her here and there, they were on the floor too! i don't have kids but awesome to see new generations being introduced

That's really cool with the kids being there, although I don't know how my 5 yr old would do for a whole show yet. Whenever he asks me to put on the "loud, fast, crazy music" I always know he wants the MxPx live albums. Hopefully I can take him to a show someday

yeah, it was either people in their 30s and up or kids with their parents, i didn't see any teenagers there. i always feel at home in crowds of people around my age, plus when there are older people than me i don't feel like the oldest one at the show haha

Yeah, MxPx were my first real concert back in 2000 at the Cornerstone Festival. It was an experience that burned into my brain and is still a vivid memory today. I've probably seen them 5 times, but the last time was in 2005 at the Warped Tour. So, yeah, it's been a while. Haha. The new album really brought me back into the fold. Is it crazy to say it's maybe my second favorite, after The Ever Passing Moment?

thats awesome, my first mxpx show was warped 05, that's crazy you haven't seen them since then but they aren't an active touring band anymore either, no more full US tours. ive seen them only 3 times, if there was a fourth, i cant remember haha

They were my favorite band for many years, but I kind of lost interest in the scene not long after Secret Weapon. Getting older and since having a kid, I've been revisiting a lot of music from my younger years. MxPx is one of the few bands that still hold up. There's no overstating how much they meant to me. It's such a trip hearing my kid sing to their stuff. She's got obscure taste like me, so You Walk, I Run is one of her favorites as well.

lets rock, nice, deepcut album haha and yah they are just so insanely tight live, blew away the ataris live that's for sure, they are just one of the best live bands out there, chris and tom doin the harmonies, it's so fun and mike is so personable. Mike said the last time they played the venue i saw them at was in April of 2000, that's cool he remembered that! he was saying how it gets harder and harder to write a set because their discography is so big lol

Oh yeah, and not sure how nerdy you get about stuff like this, but I actually prefer the Responsiblity b-side version of You Walk without the guitar lead they added on Let's Rock. Haha. But, yeah, great dudes and I hope they're able to record and play shows for as long as they want. They've still got it, that's for sure.

Did someone say nerdy and Jerry Finn? One time I ripped and compiled all of the songs the band did with Jerry Finn for the Ever Passing Moment sessions and there's like 26 songs.
