ever?! you should definitely go! i haven't seen them in probably a decade now, but both put on solid shows from what i remember
Two funny stories about my intro to both bands: MXPX - a kid in my 8th grade typing class had “mxpx is the coolest” written in sharpie on his binder. I asked who they were, and he replied “they’re a punk band and they’re the coolest.” Bought “10 years and running” after school and fell in love with them. Definitely the coolest. The Ataris - heard “San Dimas high school football” and proceeded to download 10 random tracks from some sketch site. Later, I was on a camp out with some older kids from a church group and the oldest kid was looking through my cds and saw my burned ataris cd. He announced to the car “this band is the best! You want to know what I think about girls? Listen to this song!” He scanned through the tracks and was like “I’ve never heard any of these songs.” He made me feel like an idiot. I think So Long Astoria had just come out. Always wondered what song he was referring to.
Hell yeah! Hoping Mike makes a podcast about WWWY fest, he played MXPX, Goldfinger feat. Tony Hawk, sang with Simple Plan…
Weird to see a new vinyl variant…the others are still available. They pressed a lot haha. Still love this record! So good.
Super late to respond on this but if I had to guess I would say "Giving Up On Love" from End is Forever (2001)
Maybe I’ll send him a message on LinkedIn and ask if he recalls this short interaction that clearly ruined my life
I listen to the new album quite a bit. More than I even realized! It’s so good! Didn’t think they’d top the last album, but they did.
