^I feel like I'm mostly about kpop these days, but I do find myself coming back to this thread from time to time and checking out all the songs you post. I discover some good stuff here and there, but unfortunately, I just don't get into j-music as much as I used to. I really loved the stuff back in 2014/2015, but now the feelings have faded in the last couple of months.... Not sure why You seem like you're still pretty into it, though. Which is cool
Saw Perfume last week at Vic Theatre in Chicago - it was magnificent, definitely one of the best shows I've been to in quite some time. They were a lot of fun. Glad there's a J-music thread. My avatar is one of my favorite albums of all-time ("in the direction of sunrise and night light" by deadman) - such a shame that they're no more, Mako is a one-of-a-kind frontman and aie is an exceptionally unique guitarist (whose bands since are also wonderful - the god and death stars, High Fashion Paralyze, the studs (RIP Daisuke), The Madcap Laughs, Keel, the list goes on). I was big-time into the late 90s - early 00s visual-kei scene and while it barely grips me at all now, I think a lot of the Nagoya-kei stuff really holds up and the guys involved in those bands seem to keep doing interesting stuff. Sea and the Darkness by Galileo Galilei is a top 5 album of the year for me. shame they don't have anything else on Spotify. checking out the tricot EP now.
Tricot is so good. If you haven't already, check out Ling Toshite Shigure, chouchou merged syrups, and School Food Punishment. They give off a similar vibe to me.

blindly picked up the new 04 limited sazabys album "eureka" last week while in Japan! along with quite a few of the Babymetal singles and the special editions of S/T and MR...and way more than I expected to come back with. saw Killer BiSH, hesitated, and it was sold out the next day. also spotted the Tricot DVD but hesitated on that too... could not for the life of me find anything from Split End, Polkadot Stingray, and Lovely Summer at Tower Shibuya. they were blasting Alexandros and Lyrical School so I've bookmarked Alexandros on my Spotify and will need to look up Lyrical School in some other medium. anyway, just stopped in to say thanks for all the stuff you share on here, @Chocobo!
