Definitely Maybe I guess. If I was on a desert and could only choose 1 of these 4 albums to listen to, I’d rather just sit in silence I think haha.
y’all telling on yourselves too much different class is better than the bends, just say you haven’t listened to pulp lol
Wow. I love Maps but that’s cause I have a lot of personal stuff attached to it. I don’t know how “essential” Yeah Yeah Yeahs are considered, but I think they have some jams.
Figures Steve would hate Maps. But also extra dumb considering it’s basically the one song that is least like the rest of their discography. Fever to Tell is great - requisite for someone wanting to dig into that whole early 00s NY scene. The rest is fine, not bad at all but mostly just catchy alt rock songs at best
I've never been a huge fan of Maps but Off With Their Heads is dope af, which song is their discography more like?
the song is called Heads Will Roll lol, and that one. Though that's more synthy, whereas the earlier stuff is way more guitar-driven. It's ironic that a mid tempo, quieter song like Maps became their most famous one, as nearly every other song on Fever to Tell sounds more like an aggressive White Stripes/Pixies song
Lol whoops, I actually knew that too, I was singing the chorus in my head while I typed it But damn this is some cool shit, I'll have to dive into their stuff soon
Bands should stop doing planned encores. Just go straight to the final part of the set. Why go through this corny theatrics of pretending to leave when it’s totally obvious that you’ll be coming back out in 10 minutes? You’re just wasting time that you could be spending on more songs. Also announce that a song is the last one so the audience knows to be more hyped about it Were spontaneous encores ever even a thing? It seems like they would be such a logistical pain for a tech crew that wasn’t expecting it.
What weirds me out more than bands doing planned encores is that there are people who still don't understand that bands do encores.
every time I've gone to a show without an encore people have stood confused for 15 minutes without fail, myself included
Just saw PUP and they told us they weren’t doing an encore and they were playing their last 2 songs. Loved it.
I saw Parquet Courts a couple weeks ago and they didn’t do an encore but also they didn’t announce it was their final song / it didn’t really feel like it either, so they got off stage and everyone was cheering for an encore for about 5min. Then the lights came up and everyone got disappointed and left lol
