Just heard the terrible news that Tom from architects passed away yesterday having fought a long battle with cancer. He was only 28 years old. Such a shame. He played his last ever shows in Germany back in June and I was luck enough to have been at the show at Rock am ring. First time of me seeing them live and it was an incredible performance from the band. I am seeing them again in November in Glasgow. It really is so sad to hear of his passing and thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Is it too early to start a Christmas music thread? I'm listening to Christmas music.

I kept having to choose between weatherbox and silversun pickups. Then my brain finally kicked on and I remembered I could add both of them to the same playlist.

    It's the little things, folks.

I'm thinking of going to see The Wonder Years in Columbus but I have to go by myself since all my friends are lame. Anyone planning on attending that show?

Recently discovered Jamie's Elsewhere and thought "hey, this sounds like a poppy version of Of Mice and Men." Then I find out that the lead singer is now the clean vocalist of Of Mice and Men...weird.

Either way, not sure how I missed these guys as I was balls deep in post-hardcore/emocore during the late 2000's.

I'm currently relistening to D'Angelo's Black Messiah for the first time in awhile and damnnn this is a good record. Easily a top 5 album from 2014, and it may even be the best from that year tbh.

Anyone else really looking forward to Grouplove and/or Bastille's album this Friday?

Local Natives is definitely my most anticipated for the day. But, between the two you mentioned and The Head and the Heart, it's a very good release day for radio alternative.

The little snippets at the beginning of all the Bastille singles so far drive me crazy.

I need to take a listen to those two bands- I love what I've heard on alt nation. That's where I discover most of my music.

Yeah, I hope there's not those little snippets on every single song on the album.

Yeah, I don't have satellite radio, but I follow their countdown's Spotify playlist. I normally like about 80% of what's on there. I can get behind anything that puts Glass Animals at the top of their list!

Bastille's new album might be my favorite album so far this year.

I've let so much music build up that I need to find time to listen to. I've got on the backburner:

    Bastille - Wild World
    Big Gigantic - Brighter Future
Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion Side B
    GROUPLOVE - Big Mess
    M.I.A. - AIM
This Wild Life - Low Tides
    Moose Blood - Blush

i think maybe they just realized that whole list was all dude-based, so they decided to do a second for women, idk though.

Are there any other sites that any of you use to keep up with news and announcements from this scene? I love the content that Chorus posts, but I feel like it misses a good number of announcements and that I have to go searching elsewhere for tour announcements and album announcements.
