Anyone heard Our Last Night's Beatles and Eagles covers they did recently? Venture forward at your own risk, they're pretty cringe...

  6. Covers are so much fun, so I won't demonize them for doing this, but it seems as though they are only doing this as a last-ditch effort to stay relevant.

Listening to Sigur Ros's Takk is always such a melancholic experience because although I love their sound and it is some of the most beautiful music I've heard, something about how I, as a person who dabbles in art now and then, couldn't even hope of making something that beautiful...or even grasping the concept of it in regards to my own life, kinda makes me feel depressed, and yet their music is inspiring too. There aren't many complete albums that make me feel this way (the only other records that move me like that are maybe Black Messiah, Freetown Sound, In the Aeroplane, etc) but it's almost like you have to give yourself over to them and even though you know you can not be as beautiful as those records, listening to them is like looking into a window that shares a view of what it would feel like.

Did you hear the bootleg of their new track?

I don't think it's been released officially, but pretty sure they're still cooking up that new album

Why is it so hard/expensive to track down a CD or LP of that Bobby Darin - Commitment record? Shoulda been reissued by now. Don't think it even got a proper CD version (though it was released as part of a two-album compilation of rarities that is super...rare). Listened to it on youtube and it is some groovy ass music and I love how a Sinatra-esque big band crooner made that album.

a local label just established a partnership with Run For Cover and are selling a 7 CD combo for 85 bucks. normally they'd go for 30 bucks a piece and can't be found anywhere else (imports):

    Turnover - Peripheral Vision
    Tigers Jaw - Charmer
    Basement - Promise Everything
    Basement - Colourmeinkindness
    Superheaven - Jar
Citizen - Everybody Is Going to Heaven
    Elvis Depressedly - New Alhambra

i've only heard the first 3. love PV (my 2015 AOTY) and like the other two. i don't really have the money right now (would have to loan it) but it's a limited offer. what do y'all think? should i splash it or are the other albums not good enough to justify the price?

So with Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat getting a vinyl release. Does that mean it will finally be available to stream on spotify et al?

I have completely forgotten about that band and went to listen to them a couple of months back but that album isn't on there. Wonder what my impression of it will be now having only casually listened to it first time round.

I could use some recommendations. I'm just in the mood for something super fun and easy to get into - don't care too much about the genre. Give me anything.
