I still really enjoy Won’t Stand Down… but my hype has died out for the most part with the following two singles.
I don't think so lol. He's not anti-vaxx, I'm pretty sure he's on record as supporting COVID safety measures and has become a lot less conspiracy theory-leaning than he had been in the past. "Won't Stand Down" is supposedly just a general "anti-bullying" song lol. I'm not a huge fan of these new songs except for the first single, but at least they're not "problematic" for that reason lol, just the typical vague Muse faux-deep protest lyrics that could mean almost anything lol
I know I'm late but put on The Will Of People today and it is the EXACT same groove and vocal style as Manson's "The Beautiful People". Is it on purpose?
If it weren't for the isolated vocals/drums in the intro, I might not have considered it. Once I heard that intro, I about bailed on the song because I was so distracted by the similarities. lol And I guess there's the little breakdown/bridge in the middle as well. But the other 90% of the song sounds nothing like it. I actually kind of like the song. Still, I'm still not overly impressed with anything I've heard from this upcoming album.
I'm into it but the production is bugging me, especially the drums. Not a fan of Matt's vocals at times as well.
Imo their best in a while. Still inconsistent but the high points here are much higher than on their past few for me.
Based on most reviews I’m reading this morning, your day has arrived! Throwing it on now and cautiously optimistic.
fuck this album, but ESPECIALLY this Matthew Bellamy couldn't write lyrics to save his life nowadays. sure he's talented but his band makes me cringe so hard. used to be my #1 undisputed favourite band and I couldn't make it through this record.
Is this worth listening to? I've seen takes ranging from it sounds like American Idiot to it's watered down nothingness, and I haven't really enjoyed anything by the band in years.
