Loved seeing Kate Berlant, Chris Fleming, and Hannah Einbinder in the video. What a cool overlap of people I admire.
Yeah, wow, they've joined the very small list of bands to have 4 great albums, let alone 4 in a row. Why Do I Get a Good Feeling, On Call, and So What were the first ones to jump out. I agree with the comment that it's their most consistent album sonically. It's way less chaotic genre-wise than the last two. I was REALLY hoping Buzzkiller was going to build to something bigger. The first minute or two had me so hyped, especially given it's the closer, and then it just kind of plateaued. Still very good, but feels like there's untapped potential in that song.
I considered that but decided I was getting too meta, hah. Reminds me of Mansions deciding to cut off the end of Out for Blood, which instead of adding to the symbolism of the song just sounds like you downloaded a corrupt file off of Limewire.
Unsurprising, but what an incredible album. IGSH, title track, So What, Why Do I Get a Good Feeling, and Buzzkiller are highlights after 3 listens.
Gave it my first listen when I was walking to the cinema and really liked it, I think those songs will sound massive live definitely
Drop Mary Jane and the useless interludes, fill out the closer a bit more, add a true ballad, and it would be perfect. Solid ass record.
