I'm venting but I still can't understand the rationale for announcing and putting these significant NYC underplays THREE MONTHS in advance of the date, knowing full well they'd sell out instantly. There's no way to fully avoid people reselling but the smarter play is to announce these closer to the date to avoid these shenanigans.
Devil's advocate in me says gauging interest for venue sizes for a much larger upcoming tour. Realistically these are album release shows so that’s reason enough for a more interment selection of venues. This isn’t really a tour.
Nah that can't be it. They played 2x times the same venue they are doing in Brooklyn in 2019 so it was very clearly an underplay. It also being the (at least at the time announced probably) the only East Coast shows, no question it would sell out quickly. The Shrine in LA, on the other hand, definitely testing the waters.
Got it. Chalking this up to the fact that this isn't a tour and they're album release shows. Full tour likely for the Summer.
Yeah that's more my irritation with this stuff. It doesn't make sense to announce very obvious underplays 3 months out, allows much more time for scalping, speculating ticketing, fans to get ripped off via fake Reddit posts, etc. I suppose if there's not a broader NA tour for the summer it DOES allow people from out of town to make travel plans and what not though.
Honestly can't get enough of this vibe. You can smell the vodka sodas and sweat on this beat. I have a feeling this record will be fighting tooth and nail with the new Arlo Parks for AOTY
Came here to say this after listening to both songs back to back. Feels like the closest they've gotten to the dark dance pop on About U. Very excited for this whole thing. The transitions will very likely make this cohesive as well, which is exciting
