Awesome review MUNA’s About U is an unflinching and unapologetic record of the lives of queer women the world over
bahahah look at the live video of crying on the bathroom floor. the bassist makes that video hands down.
Slows down a bit towards the middle, but the band came roaring out of the gates, and I was thinking that this was going to give me a similar experience to The 1975's ILIWYS
To be honest, the 1975 is probably the most apt comparison for me, based on their ability to create a vibe and their consistency on the album despite the wide ranging sounds. And if that tour happened, I'd have to start cardio a month before the show. My legs wouldn't be able to last for 3.5 hours of dancing straight
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of After and If U Love Me Now. Everything runs circles around those two songs as the slow song of the album. Those two songs are the the ones that ruin the flow of the album for me, but I think the slower songs are the weakest part of this band. If they can nail those on the next album, definite 9+/10
MUNA were fantastic on Friday night live; really enjoyed themselves and played with passion. Drummer dipped and went downstairs into dressing room with rest of the band, none of who came up to hang out at merch, so unfortunately didn't get to say hi to the drummer
