I do feel like there is something up with Darlene and her relationship with Elliot though. Out of all the flashbacks/hallucinations Elliot has had relating to his family she's only appeared one time, that was during his Morphine withdraws when he saw what we then thought a random little girl on a scooter infront of the house he grew up in say "we're not friends", there is definitely way more to their relationship than they what they've showed us so far. Also i've noticed the few times Darlene and Angela have been in scenes together Darlene is wearing darker clothes and Angela lighter colored clothes, there is something up with that too.
yeah i'm talking about the flashbacks in relation to his childhood though. The flashback he had with his dad's store there was no sign of her, the random flashbacks he had of his mom's abuse there was no sign of her, the visions he had of his dad, mom, and him as a child as a "together as a happy family" at the protests there was no sign of her, the flashback of him falling out of the window there was no sign of her. I just feel like there is something weird about her relationship to the rest of the Alderson family that has yet to be revealed.
You guys are as crazy as Elliot. There is absolutely no way that Tyrell, Angela, and Darlene aren't just regular people. They all interact with so many other characters that it wouldn't make any sense.
While the show obviously is largely from Elliot's view and he's an unreliable narrator, if they pull shit like "Shayla didn't die, Elliot just imagined it," I'm going to be furious. Don't just do crazy, fucked up shit and be like "Nah just in this dudes fucked up mind." It will completely undermine anything big in the future.
I don't think this show is trying to trick/confuse the viewer with the whole unreliable narrator bit. The Mr. Robot twist was telegraphed so heavily and it's looking like season 2 is following the same pattern with the mental hospital.
I want Tyrell back on screen!! It's been four episodes now and the guy has barely been in this season at all
I can't get into this season. I'll follow it through and finish it and I'm sure it'll click, but the first few episodes have been only ok to me.
I'm getting to the point where i'm internally saying "okay get on with it already" throughout the episode. this season has been dragging a ridiculous amount. this won't be more than 10 episodes, right?
yikes okay. i don't want to quit...but there's only so many hours of ambiguity that I can sit through.
Finally caught up to tonight's episode. Loved season one. I watched in all in two days. Tyrell is the weirdest dude ever. Season two has be fine. Not as good but still enjoyable. I think they the second half of the season will pick up quite a bit. After skimming through some of these comments, I think people are trying to read too much into the characters. Like someone said above Tyrell, Angela, Darlene have way too many interactions with other people. The only ones that might be imaginary are his friend at the diner and Craig Robinson.
That shooting scene that came out of nowhere was tense as fuck. Also Craig Robinson makes a surprisingly great and intimidating villain.
Awesome episode. Wasn't crazy about the first few episodes of the season, but now it feels like we're actually getting somewhere. If they had to delay the season finale last year because of the TV shooting, there was like a 60% chance they could have had to delay this episode because of a mass shooting or something.
this show is ridiculous. i thought by now i'd remember more details from last season but the deeper we go the more i'm thinking i need to rewatch season 1
There is so much I only understand on the surface level. I just enjoy the ride and don't ask questions.
I saw somebody tweet that this show is 50% a great show and 50% homework and I feel like that just gets more and more true each week
Hell of an episode! Easily the best of the season so far. Finally got some progress on everyone's stories, but that progress just created way more questions than answers. Like what the hell is WhiteRose's end game in all of this?? The Dark Army is an extension of the Chinese govt and they helped coordinate the attack, so how does WR benefit from creating all of this choas? Pretty sure that the attack on the FBI/Dom (wtf!?! moment of the season so far) was set up by WR because Dom knows more than she should and is asking too many questions.
yep. i hate having so many answered questions week to week. everything is so ambiguous and it's just annoying after awhile. it would be different if i knew this would all be wrapped up in a 6-7 episode series.
