  1. The music was amazing throughout this episode. I totally thought the music in that scene sounded familiar but I didn't realize it was "Basket Case" until now.

Thanks, normally I can spot musical cues on the show but that slipped right by me.

  6. Watching this live last night was real annoying. So many commercials at improper times I feel.

Gonna DVR or download this from now on.

Anyway, glad they're finally moving on with the story more it looks like. It just dragged on a little much.

I agree. Opening 25 minutes was commercial free then had two breaks within 10 minutes of each other. The corporate overlords need to get in their two cents I suppose...

I can't remember the last time I watched a TV show live. I don't think I could do it with the commercials.

Does anyone have any really 'out there' theories for this show? I just read an article about the Berenstain Theory that infers there may be possible time travel or alternate universes going on...I'm not sure I buy that. That article implies that it's a popular theory on the internet but honestly, that's the first I heard of it.

I don't have an overall end-game theory or anything like that, but I do believe most of the characters on this show are not real and rather a figment or figments of one of the character's imagination. Someone had a good theory on imdb that Angela is actually the main character and that Elliot is a figment of her imagination. I could see something like that happening, although I think when it's all said and done, Mr. Robot (Slater) may be the main character and the rest are figments of his imagination. I'm also not sure anything that happened in season 1 with the hack actually occurred and that the hacking may be a metaphor for something else. (Like the whole thing happened inside someone's head while in prison/psych ward, etc)

I don't know. The entire show is a mindfuck, and I love it.

Thinking "Bearenstain" reference is any more than a small easter egg is the definition of overanalyzing.

I really hope it doesn't end with a crazy, "This is all in Elliot's imagination" or "this is all Christian Slater's imagination" or "Elliot isn't real"

And on one hand, while the commercial situation last night was kinda ridiculous, I'd rather there be longer episodes (since it seems like extending the length of the episode requires extending to a full 90 minute time slot).

But the least USA could do is loosen the censorship :/

I've bought the last two episodes on Amazon, I just assumed they kept going uncensored after the premiere. That's a bummer

I honestly thought there was going to be time travel and alternate universes and "hacking time" with the whole whiterose thing from last season. but, it doesn't seem like there will. it hasn't been brought up again.

I hope that not everyone is a figment of someone's imagination, I would be pretty annoyed/upset with that. there's a wild theory on the mr robot subreddit that darlene is about to be murdered. I don't know if I buy it though. that subreddit is a black hole of wild theories.

I don't think Romero was there, but I also don't think his friend, the chubby white guy with long hair, was in it, either. So, if we find out he's dead in next week's episode, I'll be more likely to believe the theory

Also, I am almost positive we will find out that us and Mr. Robot are not his only delusions. Wouldn't be entirely surprised if Elliot worked for ECorp, and possibly is (somehow) Tyrell.

  17. This is an interesting idea. That scene in the season one finale when Elliot meets Tyrell's wife was so weird and filled with the sense that she knew something that Elliot didn't. But that could also mean she was involved in those three days that Elliot lost after the hack.

I definitely think Elliot and Tyrell are the same.

Not sure how that'd be possible logistically. How could Elliot be at AllSafe and be "Tyrell" at ECorp at the same time?

Yeah that wouldn't make sense. The AllSafe stuff and the separate interactions with Gideon are pretty good indicators that this theory holds no weight. Plus I'm pretty sure members of Fsociety bring up Tyrell in conversation with Elliot.

What if a lot of this story is in Elliot's mind though?

I've been seeing alot of "Darlene and Angela are the same person" theories lately. I dunno how I feel about that. With their separate interactions with Cisco I guess that probably wouldn't make sense either.

I also saw one weird ass theory that Shayla never actually died and her murder was just a figment of his imagination or something like that.

Mr. Robot fan theories are probably more asinine and out there than even GoT fan theories.

As I said earlier, I think a LOT of what we've seen so far have been illusions. I think it's fair to second guess everything we've seen considering the show's perspective is from a person with a severe mental health issue. Who knows, maybe the time travel/alternate universe theory is true and he once worked at AllSafe but then ECorp. Maybe those companies don't even exist at all?
