Also: wow, this episode was more interesting and exciting than season 2 in it's entirety. Very excited for the rest to come. I wonder when Sam plans to end the series. I think he has more integrity than to draw it out longer than necessary for TV ratings.
Original plan was for four but yeah it looks like five is the plan as of now. I love that Esmail actually knows where all this is going, nobody will ever be able to say that he pulled whatever out of his ass because he had it all planned from day one. Honestly I feel like, for original serialized dramas, five 10 to 13-episode seasons (12 episodes in Mr. Robot's case) is a solid number to end on. That way each season isn't drawn out too long like with network dramas and also the overall series doesn't overstay it's welcome either. I also think no serialized show should be greenlit unless the entire thing is at least roughly outlined out already, though, so that could just be me.
Those opening ten minutes were A+ And Joanna was one of the worst characters on the show, next to maybe that boring E Corp guy
I do feel terrible about her baby going into foster care :/. Happy Joanna's gone though.. I know it's just a show but I can't help but feel bad lol.
Can't imagine why every is so happy Joanna is dead. The show appeared to be setting her up as a Lady Macbeth-type figure with her own agenda and instead killed her off once her function of pinning the murder on Scott Knowles was complete. I understand why it was done but it seems like a waste of a potentially important character.
I’ve always just thought she and Tyrell were way over the top and the show would be better off without them.
That long opening montage was great. I thought this episode was setting up an arc for Joanna, and then boom. Totally didn't see that coming. Her driver apparently survived, so I'm interested to see if that goes anywhere.
Did he survive? Or did he have one last moment of adrenaline before finally succumbing to his wounds? I don't think we can be so sure yet =P
I agree that it seemed like they'd be setting something up like that, but I'd prefer if it were done with a less annoying, over-the-top character, so I'm fine with it.
If anyone was over the top out of the two of them, it's him. I've never heard that opinion before this page of this thread, but then again I stayed out of the thread all of last season to avoid fan theory spoilers. But I haven't seen that opinion of her expressed anywhere, really.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I've felt that way since the beginning for both of them. She wasn't likeable- she was just awful to everyone. So many unnecessary, creepy sex scenes that add absolutely nothing to the story (except when Tyrell had sex with that guy to get eCorp Intel). That scene when she was still pregnant and Tyrell was hesitant to get too physical.... She cared more about getting off through her torture/pain fetish than the well-being of her baby. Idgaf about her. I also don't think she's the greatest actor either.
I love both the Wellicks, they are my favorite part of this show lol. Literally my only complaint about last season was that they kept Tyrell out of all of it.
So, how significant do you guys think it was that Elliot was so positive he told Krista about his dad pushing him out of the window?
Finally this second episode brought the 'first season feeling' again. I wasn't much of a fan of season 2, so i hope they can keep this pace and style up, then i won't be disappointed again.
