I really don't understand the love for Tyrell's character. I've always thought he was one of the weakest on the show.
Exactly, and an interesting mirror for Elliot in the same way Angela kind of is. I read something recently that said Tyrell was a mirror of Elliot's worst tendencies, while Angela is a mirror of his best.
Yeahh I get how hes not supposed to be a good guy and that's just his character, but man, his feelings of entitlement and acting like a spoiled brat drove me nuts.
Some people in /r/Mr.Robot pointed out that there is a chance we already saw what stage 2 is this season in a certain hallucination. the one where Elliot and all his "loved ones" sit at a dinner table and watch the Ecorp building collapse into dust while the lullaby version of Basket Case plays
American Psycho is one of my favorite movies. To me, Tyrell reminds me of Patrick Bateman. His character is psychotic, desperate and unpredictable. Every time he was on screen, you had no idea what he was going to do or how he was going to react. He's without question my favorite character on the show.
It's also interesting that the reason they might have split the finale in half is to distance it more from the anniversary of 9/11 I honestly have no idea where the show is gona go. I also have to constantly remind myself that this is just a SEASON finale and not a SERIES finale, and it's super likely that only a few things will be answered / it ends with a cliffhanger (please don't)
In his backstage post-win press q&a Rami said he shot one scene for season 3 already. Must be a pretty pivotal scene for them to film it so far ahead of time.
this episode was definitely a tough one to get behind but I still enjoyed it. I had no idea what was going on but it was enjoyable the whole time for me. however, if they were to do that near the beginning of the season, I would be completely turned off to the show. I think that the next episode is going to bring us back to reality a little bit. it's important to remember that this past week's episode and this week's episode were supposed to be shown back-to-back just like the premiere. so, I think this week will bring down the weirdness of last week. stoked on rami winning the emmy though.
Well, that's gotta be it. I think you can realistically expect most of the important questions to be answered but some new "question" to be created.
I've been thinking about the Lolita references lately. All I can really speculate from it is that Angela is an "unreliable narrator" in her plot line from this season?
I didn't put the Emmys on until that category and it was perfect timing. So happy for the guy. Was pulling for Bob too, hope he wins it soon. Edit: Also I said that theory to my brother the other day. I thought I smoked too much weed or something that day, but it does make sense actually. Whole show is a mind fuck.
Favorite characters aside, I'm continuously blown away by the performances from BD Wong and Michael Cristofer (He's also from NJ!) I feel like the character of Philip Price is overlooked in performance because he plays it so casually, you forget that he's acting, but really, he just nails it--the way he tells stories, his mannerisms. and BD Wong as white rose...unreal. As such a huge Jurassic Park fan to see him come such a long way. He's excellent.
Philip Price's mannerisms sometimes feel over the top to me, but even then it just works so god damn well for the character and makes him so menacing. And finally watched the acceptance speech and it's probably one of the "realest" speeches I've seen since JK Simmons.
Solid article; I like how it brings up the (and IMO this isn't something blatantly made clear in the show) grey morality of fsociety. I just wish it was written next week. I feel like there's a lot of things mentioned that could be expanded upon further and be an even better article with the questions that (hopefully) get answered tonight.
I'm probably not going to be able to watch until after work tomorrow night and that's fucking...rough.
Interesting email from Mr. Robot today. Redirects to: Understanding the Endgame | Mr. Robot (which has already existed for a while now)
Today I visited the exterior of Elliot's apartment, the parking lot where he wakes up, and Lupe's restaurant.
