Glad to hear. I was a bit worried since the ratings kinda are falling off and idk this season isn't as strong IMO. I hope the rest of the season moves faster. Still enjoy it but some stuff is a little redundant after a while.
I think USA playing the long game with Mr. Robot, are not worried about ratings, and are taking a new media approach. I think to them Mr. Robot is about DVR and on demand views, streaming deals, and gaining prestige. As soon as I saw Mr.Robot featured in that Comcast/NBCUniversal commercial along with Harry Potter, the Tonight Show, and Universal Studios that a renewal of Mr. Robot was inevitable. They obviously consider that one their top media properties currently.
Im through ep 5 now and Im frustrated because I feel like the concept of having a hacker as a protagonist could be used in so many ways that would be informative and relevent to the audience. But so far everything feels very unrealistic
I can't say the show gets more realistic but there's certainly exciting turns in the second half of the season
So, this morning I tweeted "Happy #MrRobot Day, everyone" and The official Mr. Robot twitter account tweeted at me to DM them...so I did and they asked for my address and told me they were shipping me a surprise to a 'loyal viewer." Really hope their account didn't get hacked and someone is coming to my house to murder my family...
A few people in /r/MrRobot post similar stories where they sent them merch. here are the items i've seen people post they've gotten from the social media team
Wow, that's sweet. I'd much prefer any of those than the mask. It's cool that I'm receiving anything though.
Meh. That reveal probably would have had much more of an impact on me if that theory hadn't started to be floated online halfway through the premiere.
I don't think it was any less obvious than the 'Elliot is Mr Robot' reveal after a few episodes. I'm more interested to see if Robot was honest about what happened to Tyrell.
haha what the fuck? I was fucking SHOCKED as fuck !!! what a twist!! people saw that coming? i mean did people realllllly see that coming or did people go on forums and see other peoples theories and then say 'they saw it coming'. my jaw was literally dropped at that reveal!! and i was just about to say that this was one of the weakest episodes of the series
if Craig Robinson isn't nominated for "best guest actor in a drama" at next year's Emmys i'll be really surprised.
He was in half of the season's episodes, so he'll have to submit as Supporting Actor instead of Guest Actor. It's a new rule they added this year.
If so that's unfortunate since he'll be probably be less likely to be nominated in the Supporting category.
I'm surprised that Elliot was in prison instead of a mental hospital. Now I'd guess that he was there for something related to hacking Krista's boyfriend and stealing his dog. Also think that the knock on his door had to have been the cops now that we know for sure he's in prison.
People in the prison such as Ray and Leon were aware of Elliot's hacking so I assume that's what he's in there for. One potential plothole is if AllSafe was under that much scrutiny and one of their employees gets arrested on unrelated hacking charges 3 days after the hack wouldn't that you know be kind of a no brainer for Elliot to be the FBI's #1 suspect?
We really need to get Tyrell back into this show...To me, he's easily the best character and we've gone 7 episodes without him.
