I feel like this episode is going to be polarizing for some fans. Alot of people are probably hating this, but I think this is brilliant.
You're not missing much. So far there's been one ad that was noticeably changed to match the show. I'm sure you'll be able to find it online easy enough.
Really great episode. The sitcom stuff was insane, the Angela/Darlene plot was some of the tensest stuff in the series so far.
The 90's Mr. Robot theme was written and performed by Bennett Salvay and Jesse Frederick. the same duo who are responsible for the themes of Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, and Step by Step.
Man that was great, that moment between Elliot and Mr. Robot after he was dragged out of the hospital room was great.
the careful massacre of the bourgeoisie Great episode. While the sitcom stuff was fun though, I do admit, I am at the point of the season where I'd like to move away from Elliot's mind stuff. I realize it's a major part of the whole show, and perfectly cool with that, but right now Elliot's storyline is really stuck i feel. on a side note, I love how little they talk about the outside world and the damage that mr robot did in the 1st season
Despite some of the slow pacing this season, we can all be in agreement that this is probably the most artistically ambitious show on tv currently right?
I think Leftovers is also up there in actively trying to be different, experimental, and breaking the mold, but I also think they're not even close to touching what Esmail is trying to do. I could make a point about Lucha Underground being one of the most ambitious shows on tv too but that's probably a point more suited for the Wrestling Thread lol.
Yeah, Leftovers belongs in that conversation for sure. But some of the stuff in Leftovers s2 was directly inspired by Mr. Robot (Lindelof says he's a huge fan of the drug episode and that it influenced International Assassin heavily), so I can't really give it as much credit. And yeah, if we're going to talk wrestling shows, we might as well throw TCGS in there too. :P
TCGS definitely deserves to be mentioned, completely changed the idea of what a late night comedy talk show could be and could do.
Was not really a big fan of last night's episode. Thought the sitcom stuff was pretty dumb. Meh. Haven't gotten too into this season unfortunately.
