based on the original Rudyard Kipling novel so no King Louie, no songs, and a darker take
This looks as bad as that Legend of Tarzan movie.
Just donate the money to animal conservation and call it a day.
This whole dynamic is getting pretty wild. Only a couple months out of the release.
They knew it was gonna flop
I think it looks cool *shrug*
I still don’t get the obsession with Serkis in general.
I'm fully at the point where I don't give a shit about an original Netflix movie. They've been so focused on getting original/exclusive content out every week and the majority of it is forgettable shit. Netflix is the new "straight to video" in my mind.
I like Serkis, but I thought it was incredibly stupid to still pursue this movie when Disney was going to get their live action Jungle Book out far ahead of your movie.
He is an incredibly talented actor
I don’t see it. He’s fine, but I don’t think he’s anything above average.
Fair enough. Doesn’t change the fact that he is regarded in the industry and by other actors as an excellent actor.
You seem upset I don’t like him
Serkis’ performance as Caesar is legit incredible
I’m not upset at all. It’s totally cool if you don’t, but I’m just saying he is very well regarded as an excellent actor by most people.
so this is on Netflix now.
the animal faces look pretty terrible
I'll probably watch this some night on mushrooms or something and forget about it the next day
Anybody watch it yet?
story seems good so far, the animals...don’t look great.
Yea, the characters look like a cgi version of the fantastic mr.fox
I thought this was pretty good. Different enough to justify it being so close to the release of the awesome Disney one.
I didn't have many expectations but came away really liking it.
This pretty much sums up my feelings exactly.
That being said, I think I would still watch this though if I get the chance, as I find the take on it pretty intriguing, and he did get some damn fine actors on board. The way they did the faces on the animals was probably a huge mistake though from what I've seen.
