Yeah, and dude can SCREAM live. I agree though that S/T and Prawn split suit his voice best, but I did enjoy the belty moments of Pneuma a lot. If he can just go for it once in a while, that'd be ideal. I don't mind never getting a scream again from this band.
Well, and when it comes to the production sound of it, too! To me it sounded like Thrice a bit back in the day
I was more talking about the singing that screaming. Think the production helped on waves but yeah it sounds a lot better on waves
I figured, but still, I'm sure it's not only production, it's also having good conditions in the studio to reach your peak, whereas live you have to be on point for a few songs straight, and very often you don't hear yourself so clear when you play music like that in clubs they used to book.
I honestly haven't listened to Waves in years and I've never seen them live so I can't compare. I'm going mostly off the production for Pneuma being a bit, well, lacking.
Oh I get it, yeah, Pneuma sounds a bit lo-fi at times, but I also treat it differently, seeing as it's a low-budget debut etc.
That remaster is pretty cool, sounds better and also has bonus remixes by Hammock and Sombear (Brad of Now, Now). New Light is also another nice and short compilation of reworks - have you heard it?
Yeah I've heard New Light. It's OK. I prefer the original Pneuma songs but it's cool to hear them like that. Is the remaster on spotify? Might give it a listen tonight. Listening to the prawn split now, beautiful.
Oh I don't think so, I would have to dig a bit deeper, but I think that's the old version on Spotify. I've downloaded the remastered one through Topshelf, and like I said - it contains some bonus tracks, so that would probably hint at the Spotify release not being the one for sure. ps. and I can't stress it enough that Prawn's side of that split is also so amazing! Some of their best songs! Loved their new album, but nothing topped that for me there.
Speaking of this show, I ordered a will call ticket and was emailed a confirmation of my order. However, when I click the link to view my orser number and info it says the page is unavailavle amd ticketfly tells me my last purchase was Now, Now. Is this just because I'm doing will call, or should I try reaching out and saying whats up
Thinking about making the 5 hr drive up to the Philly show. Haven’t seen them since s/t was released. Worth it?
