  2. There are 3 albums actually! The Musician somewhat counts as the first one, even though it was released under his band. It makes more sense as it sounds close to his other solo albums, whereas Looking Glass Wars' follow up EP was more in that theatrical slight post-hardcore vein that was all the rage in the scene in the late 00s.

I feel the same way listening to this album as I do when I listen to Jimmy Eat World's Clarity. Real similar vibes.

Did they just come back after a 12 year hiatus with their best album?

    yes

    this is all there is

I felt damn near transported when I gave this a dedicated headphone listen while running the other day - the album is full of highlights, but specifically the back half of "Everyone is Happy..." is so fucking cool.

just great stuff here. was having a really bad night and this calmed me right the fuck down, no mean feat for an album I've never heard!

don't remember their old stuff well enough to be sure but feels like they hit on a Dark Dark Bright balance of polish and maturity without losing the post-rock sauce here. excited to spend some more time with the discog soon

  10. And I think, why'd you leave?
Did the world revolve around in spite of me?
The inflection and way it's sung gets me every time.

  17. I got my tracking a week ago but the delivery estimation is still even a week from today. Holiday weekend is not helping, lol

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Got my record in the mail today.

Found out this past Friday that my pregnant wife will be induced this up coming Saturday. Been listening to this record a lot over the last few days while thinking about a lot of things and trying to find peace and comfort with the situation. It's definitely been delivering and I think helping me feel things I need to be feeling.

I realized I don't have any of their first 3 on CD so I looked on Amazon and discogs and....yeah can't afford that shit. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled at thrift stores and record stores, etc.

  21. CD or vinyl? The vinyl is definitely pricey but the CD prices on Discogs seem pretty normal from what I see.

CD. Looks like Pneuma is $35 after shipping at best and there was one very expensive copy of the s/t that must have sold, because I don't see any now.

Waves I can get reasonably though.

Listened a dozen times at least. The very few songs that didn't immediately click are now rivaling other songs I'd die for. They're all just fighting it out. Which is really the highest compliment I could give an album.

I feel like a broken record but I can't believe this happened and it's this good.

If feels new and fresh but also like I’ve been listening to it for 20 years. Can’t say enough about how good this album is.
