Since this movie came out at the same time as Friends with Benefits with Mila kunis, I'm convinced her and Natalie portman both found and read the script during black swan and fought over who got to star in it so hollywood just said 'fuck it, make it twice'.

Ed Wood is one of the best movies of the Nineties. Edward Scissorhands and Mars Attacks are fun.

    run away with me Platinum

Pee Wee's Big Adventure/Beetlejuice/Batman is one of the most intriguing first 3 films and him and Danny Elfman are super influential

Big fish is probably the last decent movie he made. Mars Attacks is so good.

The Batmans, beetleguise, Edward scissorhands, Mara Attacks are all good. I also enjoy Big Fish and Sleepy Hollow. Nightmare before Christmas is technically not his but yeah.

Haven’t seen Ed Wood. Loved Mars Attacks as a kid. Rewatched Beetlejuice and it holds up. I remember liking his Batman movies but pretty much hate everything else.

Ed Wood is a legitimately perfect movie.

    Rough ranking:

    Ed Wood
    Big Fish
    Edward Scissorhands
    Batman
    Beetle Juice
    Sleepy Hollow
    Frankenweenie
    Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
    Dumbo
    Corpse Bride
    Dark Shadows
    Big Eyes
    Planet of the Apes
    Mars Attacks!
    Batman Returns
    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
    Alice in Wonderland

Just have to see Miss Peregrine's

  14. Rough indeed. Yikes! Haha. Mars Attacks and Batman Returns being almost at the very bottom is giving me spilled coffee on my lap vibes.

I kinda straight up hate Batman Returns. I get the appeal of Mars Attacks. It’s a noble failure to me. But it doesn’t really get the tone right for either classic creature feature movies or classic alien movies so the pastiche misses a little bit, imo.

As a kid the scene in Batman Returns where Penguin bites the guy's nose scared the shit out of me.

    Great film.

Never heard of this film and had to look up the year… 2010, so before either became more well known from Parks & Rec and Breaking Bad, respectively. Also makes sense why Jeffry Tambor is on it prior to his abuse allegations.
