Me and everyone I know saw Just Friends

 

Idk about nowadays since I stream but it used to be on TV all the time. I even caught it on TV in another country in the middle of summer despite it being a winter movie lol

 

Ok what about Shallow Hal? Also a fat suit, and somehow the only Farrelly movie I haven't seen.

 

I'm not saying it's good. But I found it funny at the time.

imo shallow Hal is much worse than just friends also much more offensive if memory serves

 

A movie could have happened at a certain time and then no longer happen after it has faded from our collective memory. A large number of movies mentioned throughout the thread were successful at the box office

It's a bummer that there are so few good movies about dogs and people. They are always overly manipulative.

 

Just Friends definitely is a movie that happened. Still gets play on TV too.

And yeah I’ve just come to accept that a lot of movies I saw in the 90s and 2000s are filled with a whole bunch of “hey it’s okay to be gay now we’re not judging but also lmao you’re gay! Total insult!”…there definitely seemed to be this feeling of hey we’re not all bigoted about queer people anymore so now we can make jokes about it and it’s not hateful going on. The world hadnt quite caught up to the idea of how their media impacted young lgbtq folks yet.

 

Recently watched an interview with Tom Holland where he said Just Friends is his favorite movie and he watches it with his mom every year heh.

 

The order of the names not lining up with the picture really fucked with me there for a second. I was like “wait that’s not Lindsey Lohan”

i fucking hate that so many movies do this. I think someone on this site said it goes in order of who’s cast as a main character or something and the person making the covers doesn’t know that but my god it’s always been a huge pet peeve of mine

 

2013?? Were apps even a thing back then, this movie was ahead of it’s time! lmao

 

It was also made by Vince Offer, aka the ShamWow pitchman. In the late 90s he made The Underground Comedy movie which I remember commercials ran for that all the time during Jerry Springer

 

It was InAPPropriate Comedy and this movie coming out in the same year that probably ensured we never get a sketch comedy film again.

 

I got really high earlier this year and watched Movie 43 and I laughed a lot lol.

 

I love that that Movie 43 poster is straight using headshots for its cast instead of stills from the movie.

 

They should have put Jackman’s scrotum face on the poster. Movie woulda done gangbusters.
