Movies That Didn’t Actually Happen • Page 71

I think multiple showings of classic movies just typically don’t do well unless it’s a special event that people have to be there for.

I went to a one-time, anniversary showing of “Back to the Future” a decade ago and it was packed. I also went to the 4K, 3D showing of “Terminator 2,” which was playing regularly and I was the only one in the theater (It also tanked hard and killed James Cameron’s hopes of doing other theatrical restorations.) I think people are too flaky and can just say “Well I’ll just watch this at home.”

  2. I've seen Year One about a decade ago and it was a mess full of sexist jokes at every corner. Felt really dated on arrival.

Extract went over my head when I was younger, but I have to imagine it is maybe ok now

    Regular

Never saw it because of how unfunny the preview footage seemed.

  5. This movie is bad and inferior to Guillermo's films in every way, so I have no defense and cannot explain why the 13-year-old in me kind of really enjoys it. It's very bad but also absolutely bonkers

I remember being severely let down by “Extract,” considering all the talent involved. It was way too cynical for my taste and I usually love Mike Judge’s cynicism.

All I remember is Kristen Wiig telling Jason Bateman that she had a bunch of sex and he responds with like four crude jokes wondering how she's able to even sit down

Jason Bateman is the rare one to burn through his career twice after being revived by Arrested Development.
